He will definitely be honored and respected for the dedication he has given the Panthers over the years. He was here in the beginning and is the only one that has lasted this long. Props to Kasay, hes a pimp.

The announcers said 51 yards and it was straight down the middle. It doinked the cross bar and with another rotation of the ball and it would have bounced in instead of out. I'm not worried about Kasay. He probably has lost about 5 yards on his leg over the years, but that's not bad. Safely he's got the leg for 50 yards and under, just not the 55 yards and under anymore even though he made the second 51 yard kick later--barely. He's still a heck of a kicker.

Look at his stats from last year, he missed some. I worry about any FG he'll kick from 50 and above. His leg is done. This is his final year but we have to let him go out on his contract's terms. But he could be very key to wins/losses this year. It'll be nail biting.

You're wrong here. Last year, of all kickers who kicked at least 16 FGs (Rackers was #1 with 16 for 17), Kasay was the 19th best FG kicker percentage wise at 82%.

His longest was only 50 yds. That's 23rd best. He was tied for the second most blocked kicks. Was perfect for 20-29 yds out, missed one from 30-39 out, missed one from 40-49 out, and missed three from 50+ (1-4). He also missed an XP.

I'm not saying we need a new kicker, I'm just saying his run is over after this season, there are much better kickers in the league. He may cost us games this season...and yes he can always win us games too.

That's a pretty exaggerated comparison. There are a few kickers who are all leg and no accuracy, they're called kickoff specialists. Most kickers have more pop in their leg who are also accurate. Kasay's accuracy hasn't even been that great lately.

Post #25 is all you need to read. If you think he's still a top kicker in this league, you're the spoiled one...and by that I mean homer. I like Kasay as much as the next guy, but there's a reason he doesn't do kick offs, there's a reason he missed three beyond 50 last season. HE'S OLD.
