Is it fairly obvious to anyone else....

damn yall, I thought he did alright... I mean, our 2nd team oline was AWFUL last night. A Dwill/Stew hybrid couldn't make gains with what he saw on those plays.

He caught all his passes thrown his way, and he obviously gained more confidence in the game after being in under center. I for one don't won't him to be a pr, but he did field it and gained yards much cleaner than previous games.

People keep gettin mad at him for everything they can think of... So its his fault FO made a dumb move and traded up to get him? Is it his fault the FO wants to market the "Mountaineer" package?

Ive said it once and I'll say it again. I've never seen a panthers rookie with this much hype and expectations going into a season.

I actually think it was more to give the Giants something new to think about and plan for.

Agreed. I also think the announcers got it right when they talked about allowing him to throw some passes helping to make him more confident.

I can't really see taking the time out to design and practice plays just to sell tickets. You design and practice plays to help you win games.

Winning games is what sells tickets.

If the draft were held today knowing what we know, would Jarrett (just for sh*ts and giggles), Lafell, and Edwards all go before round 5?

Steve Smith wanted a strong number #2 on the opposite side, we have a roster full of high round projects and free agents.

Not sure why I even posted this.

Would Edwards and Lafell go before round 5 again? Absolutely, they have so small of a sample size and to large of a learning curve to be considered anything other than a "rookie wide receiver" who, historically, do not have massive seasons.

Would Jarett, no, but then again he's had a lot more time to prove himself and he fails every time. What amazes me is that there are still DJ supporters out there but everyone who wasn't already a fan of one of our young rookie WRs is ready to throw the towel in on all of them. It baffles me

based on what they have done since drafted, i'm not sure golden tate would even be drafted before then. the dude hasn't looked much better than jarrett and apparently has the same problems with not picking things up.

.

But, I'm sure youve experienced your fair share since the Saints bandwagon is the one to be on right now.

yeah sure, but to be honest, im amazed the saints have kept a many fans as they have. They've always done pretty decent on attendance despite the shitty teams.

Being the only game in town helps.

For someone learning the wide receiver position he did make a great grab last night and made an extra move to get the first. Jarrett caught a ball with a route 2 yards short of the first down and he has been a receiver all his life. Gettis had balls bounce of his chest and he has been a receiver his whole life. Granted I dont want Armanti running the ball out of the backfield because I think he still has a QB mentality and doesnt wanna put his head down and take a good hit but damn give the kid a break. Other than his first preseason debacle he has improved every game. I cant say the same for all our other so called receivers. Maybe we did pay to much for him this year but the kid can play he just needs a little time and Im not a ASU fan just so you know.

That the "Mountaineer" formation last night was more about selling the remaining tickets the Panthers have been desperately roadblocking on their website for a month and less about actual football?

lol @ pandering to the local alumni so much. Its the mountaineer formation! Please please please buy tix.

And if I didn't already have my PSL tickets, it would do anything BUT encourage me to buy ... this Terrier (in this instance) finds the "Mountaineer" formation too much to swallow!

I have no problem with them putting Edwards as the #3/reserve QB and opening another roster spot for someone else... granted he was pretty limited last night, but he looked pretty good in there. If they are gonna keep him around, might as well use him for all that he's good for.

Armanti would definitely have the biggest arm strength out of Moore, Clausen, and himself. He was really downed at ASU for not being able to throw the football well the first 2 years he was there and really worked on it. The last 2 years he was an extremely good passer. He has a cannon for an arm too, even if it looks like he has small noodle arms. There is a play from 2 years ago against Wofford where he rolls out full speed and throws a 50 yard strike, right in Bryan Quick's hands while Quick never broke stride.

Last night made me wonder if he was truly brought in to do more than just play WR/KR. Some of the people here question him taking a hit and that is just not true either. There were plenty of times he would just put down his head and take on linebackers in college.Plenty of people around here that biatch about this team not having heart and fire, we get one that has the same intensity, drive, and heart as Beason and Smith, but because of where he comes from everyone downs him.

Armanti will be productive. It may not be this year, but it will happen.

I have not seen too many balls bounce off Gettis. Not that takes away from what Edwards is doing. I just think the Panthers had them a Devin Hester pick and it is not the case. Edwards will be a good WR just not a ST guy.
