Preseason is over and we need a a WR

I'd almost rather we just keep who we've got at this point. We play our first game in a little over a week. Say by some miracle we got a guy over the long weekend, how many weeks of practice would it take before he was even truly effective? At least the guys we've got were here all though mini camps and OTA's and TC. Bring in Houshmazilla with a few days to learn the playbook and watch him fail miserably. A WR not knowing the playbook results in a lot of picks and pick 6s for a young QB.

The only problem I have with Housh is that $7million guarentee he has on him via trade and the reports say the Seahawks will not cut him and eat that money. Too high of a price to pay even for me as a fan. I seriously doubt this front office thinks any different.
we cut jake for $12mil. it's an uncapped year. it won't matter. if the seahawks really want to get vjax, they can let housh go for $7mil and not be penalized.

after the moves they have made this year, i don't get the impression that the seahawks are particularly run by geniuses, rather they are run by impulse shoppers.

i think they very well could end up just cutting housh loose.

also, something to consider. one of the reasons that they are scrambling to get a good WR in there is that tate is as dumb as bricks and isn't grasping much of anything in that offense.

probably a better discussion for the housh thread, though.

said it before, so have may others - our second, third, and fourth best receivers are all tight ends. use them accordingly.

I think we're going to see a lot of passes to our tight ends as well as our running backs this year. Maybe we can get buy with that, and hopefully some of these younger receivers will come into their own as the season progresses.

i didn't read everyone's comments so forgive me if i repeat anything that's already been said. but i strongly believe our poor play in the preseason has nothing to do with the talent that's on our roster. i think it's got more to do with the play calling. teams don't like to show a whole lot during the preseason, so they vanilla their offenses and defenses. i just happen to think our offense was trying too hard to execute these "vanilla" offensive plays. and if anything, it's Matt Moore. i'm not downing the guy, but i think he needs a "real" playbook to execute correctly, and not some high school play book that Fox probably blows dust off of every year for the preseason. our offense never does well in the preseason if Smith isn't on the field. and Moore's numbers have never been spectacular in the preseason.

and with everything being so new to most of the receivers, i think they just need some time to gel with each other and a little more in-depth studying is probably needed. hell, last week i was ready to write Armanti Edwards off, but after last night, he showed improvement in just that short time.

i think i'll reserve my judgment until after the first four or five games.

I see where you're coming from, but we didn't score a single touchdown on offense regardless. Even if you don't want to show a whole lot, you should still score.

I personally don’t take a whole lot of stock in preseason, just like i take little-to-no stock in preseason power rankings or mock drafts.

It’s all about player evaluation ,not trying to actually win games.

Until the real bullets start flying Sept 12th,in our regular season opening ,all preseason place happenings actually mean very little.
