Lafell Locked Up As #2?

I think Smitty #1 and Lafell #2(due to Lafell not playing) and I would say that was a signal to DJ, however with one catch for 8 yds. (his avg.) I would expect Jarrrett to be waived. I also think Moore will be kept along with Gettis.

I expect Edwards to be the emergency #3 QB and I think Guy makes it, because of ST play, I know he didn't play....maybe we don't know something? Anyway you wouldn't put Jarrett in the game, if he was a lock.:eek:

WR #1 - Smith - Moore - Edwards

WR #2 - Lafell - Gettis - Guy

(Lafell did play and was targeted once) DJ ran a third and ten in route, 2 yds short, which pretty much sums up his carrer!

i don't want either one. there isn't anyone on the team i want as a WR2 at the moment. all any of them have done is shown that they aren't ready and we need someone else.

That's why I have a funny feeling...Moose may return?? I think we did alright in the draft, but are these guys ready? Thats the only reason I see keeping Moore, he gets open and catches the ball.

LaFell runs like the ball is coming to him on every play. When you watch him without the ball, he looks like he wants to be out there. That's why he starts over DJ.

Lafell, Gettis and Edwards all also do something very important as receivers on this team that Jarrett never seems to do: they look to make contact and block in the running game. They might not get tangled up each time, but I did notice that Gettis and Edwards were out there trying to help when they could.

I actually would agree with the OP... just because he was only targeted once and didn't catch it doesn't mean he hasn't secured that #2 spot. The actual reason for him only being targeted once is because he wasn't in the game long enough to catch more passes. Which would lead me to believe that Fox pulled him early because he plans on having him line up opposite Steve Smith in week 1. I actually think Lafell will do ok once Smith gets back in the line up. He'll have more time to get open since most of the coverage will float towards Smith and he'll have a lot of one on one situations. He does need to work on his hand-eye coordination though.

Steve Smith, Brandon Lafell, Dwayne Jarrett, David Gettis, Charly Martin

and either Trent Guy or Kenny Moore will be #6 should they choose to have 6. But at this point, I just don't see it.

I highly doubt Moose will ever play again. Didn't he say a week or two ago he hasn't worked out any this summer? I imagine he's not even close to being in football shape.

Did you hear Mixon gush over the Jarrett catch? It was only one of the best passes all night that hit him square in the hands, but what a catch!

I think there is a good possibly that Jarrett starts cause he is a vet. Rookies really have to play lights out to win a spot on foxs team. Jarrett is prob the wost option but he has been here the longest.
