Say Jake IS done...

I just really don't want to drop Jake if we aren't going to get a sure-thing. I don't want to be Auburn University and their coaching search. They were frustrated with a successful coach, so they dropped him. That's okay...as long as you replace him with someone who isn't Gene Chizik.

If we are going to get rid of Jake, it better be for someone like has at least shown that they have the potential to succeed.

So should we assume you were ok with trading two first rounders for Sean Giblert, and two more picks for Jeff Lewis and cutting Steve Buerlein? Or how about resigning Dan Morgan after the Super Bowl rather than keeping extra cash on hand for Will Witherspoon's upcoming free agency?

No. There were no stats in the Gilbert trade as solid as with the need for Joke to go

Will being turned loose was a money thing. We knew he could play we just did not want too pay him.

Dan Morgan had 25 tackles in the super bowl

Buerlein being cut was a good decision. Jeff Lewis looked to be better. Buerlein proved to be all he could be and that was never enough. Just like Jake.

...yet I guarantee you voted for John McCain....

/carolinarolls' opinions

well since the pool for potential replacements for joke is much is larger than one candidate your logic is once again proven itself flawed. You should be embarrassed with yourself to attempt to draw such an asinine comparison that actually bears no comparison whatsoever.

Oh and btw, when has John McCain repeatedly proven to be sucha terrible President of the United States?

Hmm?

When did that happen?

Didnt we just get our ass kicked by a 40 year old QB???

Try again.

Kurt is a former league mvp, superbowl mvp, led the rams to back to back superbowls winning 1 of them. Quarterbacked one of the most explosive offenses in NFL history, injuries and teams wanting to get their 1st rd drafts on the field or they only reason he's been sidelined.

He's also the reason your boy Jake sat the bench a few years in NFL Europe, Jake is no where near the pedigree QB that Kurt is even at 40.

in a decision between fearing to do somehting wrong or staying with something you know you cannot count on, I'll always take a shot.

"a decision"... You generalized all decisions, not just football decisions...

"fearing to do something wrong"... I guarantee you are/were afraid that Obama was the wrong choice...

"staying with something you know you cannot count on"... McCain voted WITH Bush how many times?

"I'll always take a shot"... Liar liar pants on fire!

First how do you know what that man's political affiliation is, secondly one decision is based off a game the other is based off of quality of living, and life and death issues such as war and peace two different scales.

Thirdly what you "status quo 'ers" dont realize is that it is not a gamble to us, we've already come to the conclusion that Jake can't get it done, he's been given just about every tool a QB needs to succeed he hasn't done it.

The staff has tried over the years to hide his inefficies(sp) he threw the ball less than any 16 game starting QB this year and is still among the top at throwing interceptions. There's a reason why even with two different offensive coordinators 3rd down and beyond 7 is an automatic run draw unless were in panic mode.

To us changing directions only means two things either we hit or miss, by miss we get a average guy who capable of having just as terrible of games as Jake is capable of having, Or we bring in a much more efficient QB who can manage the game and let our runningbacks and recievers do their thing.

If i'm understanding it right you Jake supporters are in the camp of that Jake is already a great QB or he can get us over the mountain top with just a little more help. I just feel in the salary cap era we can't get much more help than what we already have.

he's just whining

anybody who compares a failing jake delhomme career after 6 seasons as the starting quarterback of the Carolina Panthers to John McCains failed campaign to become president of the United States is bound to be whining about something. God only knows if it will actually makes sense and in most cases it probably won't, but the comparison is so far stretched it isn't even a comparison.

It was about as stupid an attempt that I have ever seen to bring two totally unrelated items in comparison with one another. The guy hears the word "change" and puts on an Obama button, forgets the reality of the conversation, and jumps head-first into crucify mode. In true Pavlovian fashion one word caused an adult to lose all sense of what is and what is not legitimately sensible.

To be fair, he was purposefully baited.

Wow. I can't even believe I just read this post, and even moreso I can't believe that you are serious.
