Say Jake IS done...

...just like with Drew Brees, eh?

I guess he saw that NO and thought it stood for New Orleans...

The difference was that they had Rivers on the bench at that time and had drafted Rivers in the 1st round, paid him a lot of money, and Brees screwed up his shoulder in Week 17 of that season....I can't see them being comfortable with letting him go with Billy Volek and Charlie Whitehurst backing him up. But it doesn't mean we can't dream.

If he gets cut by the Brown, its because Mangini is cleaning house so he can bring in players that fit his system. I'm pretty sure Mangenius will want to keep the younger one of the two QBs on the roster.

I still think Andersen has talent. He's definitely got the size and build to be an good QB. I mean, what other free agent would you want to give a shot at? Byron Leftwich?

He could do well in the Panthers system, if he learns to throw short better.

below average and below elite are 2 entirely different things.. Jake has always been below elite.. he is right at the top of the average QBs.. which is probably the best we have ever had..

Check the stats, Jake was below average this year.

18th QB rating

22nd completion %

tied for 25th in interception %

24th in TD/INT ratio

you REALIZE that they let bree's go BECAUSE they had rivers........right?

I know that...

I also know that the Chargers could draft another QB knowing that Rivers might be on his way out...

Rivers will decide where he wants to play, and NC would be a lot more attractive to him... Especially with Smitty in the fold until 2013, 2 very good young RB's, and 2 possible franchise tackles to work with...

LT has peaked, Gates is banged up, and he hasn't had super WR help in his entire career...

Josh McCown (6'4", 215) 29 years old

Best Season:

13 games started, 233/408 (57.1%) 2,511yds 10tds/11ints, 12 fumbles, 5 lost

Derek Anderson (6'6", 230) 25 yeards old

Best Season:

15 games started, 298/527 (56.5%) 3,787yds 29tds/19ints, 5 fumbles, 2 lost

Both lack accuracy, but Anderson has a much better TD/INT ratio and gives up the ball much less. If you look at both their stats, McCown has a fumble problem.

in a decision between fearing to do somehting wrong or staying with something you know you cannot count on, I'll always take a shot.

So should we assume you were ok with trading two first rounders for Sean Giblert, and two more picks for Jeff Lewis and cutting Steve Buerlein? Or how about resigning Dan Morgan after the Super Bowl rather than keeping extra cash on hand for Will Witherspoon's upcoming free agency?
