Patrick Crayton may be available by trade or from being cut.

Signing him for vet minimum is a reach as another team, i.e. Vikings, would make a better offer and it would be worth it.

Also to note that Michael Clayton is also being reported to be among the Bucs cuts on Saturday.

And I haven't heard anything from the Broncos lately. At one point in time it was looking as if Brandon Stokely could be cut.

If a vet is looking for a team he can come in and actually play then I don't think there's a better one than the Panthers. If he's looking to ride the bench in hopes of bringing hope a championship then yeah.

I agree but if you are bringing that Vet in to be a starter then offering the Vet minimum is an insult. If all he is worth is the vet min then don't sign him at all, imo and in the situation.

Vet minimum as an insult = he comes in with a chip on his shoulder with something to prove.

Yeah, but he's a wide reciever. Anything less than the biggest contract in the history of the NFL will probably = him coming in with a chip on his shoulder.:D

If the Panthers want him and think he could be that missing link for this team to make noise this year then don't be cheap and pay fair maket value. At the same time, don't over pay and get into a bidding war with a team like the Vikings.
