QB possibility in the 2nd round?

Big drop off in DT/DE after the first couple of first rounders. If somebody like LSU's OG, Herman Johnson dropped to us, I'd take him in a heartbeat over the leftover tweener DEs, jouneyman backup DTs and never better than nickel CBs that could be left at our pick. Cinci's CB Mike Mickens could fall to us (knee injury, wasn't 100% in bowl game). I say we take the best starting talent we can find, excluding RB, FB and LB. Quite a few of our needs will have to be filled by FA no matter who we draft, so I say get the best talent we can in here.

I doubt Fox will take a QB early, rather get someone who will make an immediate impact. One bad season and he will not have a job, so everything that happens would be good for the immediate now, but will hamper us long term. People, we need to just hope and pray that Matt Moore is our future, he has some experience so he is not just a raw talent. I just wish we had the coaches to develop a QB such as Moore, maybe we do, but hasnt been proven yet.

anyone pushing for defensive help in the second, don't expect much improvement when we run the same crappy scheme that has always stung us.

I understand your frustration, but what do you suggest? Fox is a defensive guy, meaning he will try to get defense ASAP. And if it's true that Peppers is actually gone, I see them pulling defense on every single pick this year, yeah, I said it...

Oh i hear you. I know that's where we're going to go, I'm just not expecting it to make a huge difference given Trgovac is still here and the past 3 years we've gotten worse on defense.

And I can't disagree with anything in that statement...

Unfortunately I'd have to agree with what you said. I just don't see us being any better on defense with trgo still here.

the scheme is just dumb. And it's evident if you research some of our players' stats. Our leading interceptor is a linebacker. We had all of what, ONE def. pass interference call the entire regular season?

Our corners can get physical. Lucas was the among the best of em when we picked him up. Gamble could be too. You know how much of a difference it makes when you can jam a receiver at the line and bump em off their route, yet, our corners line up at the first down marker. Why? The best receivers in the league will just make you look silly that way, as they've done this year. Fitzgerald with 150 receiving yards at the HALF is just beyond ridiculous, and all he did was got open, in consecutive plays also. Even my sister, who never watches football, was looking at the screen telling me, "why aren't they covering this guy. They're just standing there." It's obvious the scheme does not work, but according to Fox, nothing needs to be so much as tweaked if you're winning, and that's what sets him up for the ultimate downfall time and again, like what happened Saturday. Nevermind our offense has to score 35 points a game to win, there's nothing wrong with the defense because they're giving up 33 points, not 38.

:iagree: I want fox gone because of this it is what it is crap. We just picked a bad day to have a bad day?????????? do what, he's just not aggressive enough to win consistently in the nfl. imo, we stuck in this winning season, losing season, maybe mabye not a winning season, losing season, winning season. But I know fox wont be gone, so I at least want trgovac gone and for the team to give that new d cord the ability to run the defense the way they see fit. (preferably aggressively)
