Every Dad should read..

.. i just went to a funeral yesterday for my babysitter's older brother.

He committed suicide last week and it has obviously been crazy around here..

His parents split a long time ago and got remarried, so He and his sister are here in VA with their mom and Step Dad - and his Birth dad's and family are back in Cali.

Anyways, his Birth Dad spoke at the funeral that just about had everyone bawling. He said to every parent in the room, specifically the Father's with Sons, that Patrick was a blessing bestowed upon him from God.. but little did he know that this blessing had an expiration date on it.. he wished he had spent more time with his son and he encouraged all Fathers and parents to hug their sons and kids and just enjoy that time for as long as you can..

please keep the Dzor and McKelroy families in your prayers.. thanks

A guy six houses down the street from me hanged himself two days ago. Didn't know him, no idea the troubles he felt he was under. He was only 29.

Yeah, I make darn sure to hug my kids every day and to remind them that no matter what trouble they are in, the love doesn't stop and we can work through anything.

Someone once asked my Dad if he loved one of his kids more than the other one. He replied, "Of course!" The guy asked him which one he loved more. I love my Dad's answer: "Which ever one needs it more at that moment."

Thats funny you say that. My mom used to have this cartoon thing drawing framed in our house when I was younger. It was these 2 women who hadnt seen each other in forever and they say hey how are u and the one lady says she has 17 children now. and the other lady says wow! can can you keep up with them all and she asked which one she loves the most. the ladys reply was something along the lines of whichever one is sick, or lonely, or just needs love, i have enough for them all.
