If Corvey Irvin is cut...

this was DL coach "chosen one", i dont know one huddler who liked the pick.

more than happy with drafting since 2007, late round gems, undrafted value(starting QB, backup LT, STer teal etc), hits on first picks. love best pick available philosophy.

3rd round bust are common, you can not hit on ALL picks each picks. 6th&7th rounder are around 50% +/- likely NOT to make roster. NOT for the panthers they make the team....until his yr.

I wonder what Rivera could do with him? he's still apart of the practice squad right?

I still really hope Irvin gets his chance to corrupt the pocket this year. I dont like giving up on draft picks, unless you are Eric Shelton or Dwayne Jarett.

Agreed.

He was projected as a 4th or 5th round pick and the Panthers foolishly took him in the 3rd. At least they didn't give up next year's 2nd rounder to get him.

that is often what happens when you reach for need rather than take BPA.

Irvin is still here and consistent with conventional wisdom you can't decide if he is a bust until year 3. There are plenty of D linemen who take a few years to develop and become studs in the league. I remember a discussion a few weeks ago about drafting Evan Mathis who we released a few years ago. Lets see if he can stay healthy and how hard to is wiling to work for a spot this year. Until he makes the team or is cut, I am not closing the book on him and neither should other Panther fans.
