By all accounts it was a big reach to draft him in the 3rd round to begin with...

imo, there wasn't a DT at all that would have been worth that pick. by far not the best player available.

If he's cut, I'll continue to be happy that our Corvey Irvins happen in the third round, instead of in the first. And as long as we find a Captain Munnerlyn or a Greg Hardy late every year, I'll continue to be happy with our Front Office's track record of building a quality team through the draft.

I have to go along with the Charlotte Observer's Darin Gantt and his following statement about DT Corey Irvin.

"You hate to punt a recent third-round pick such as Irvin, but he’s simply been out-performed by Landri, who they wisely claimed off waivers last December. In fact, the undersized effort-guy probably had the most consistent camp of the lot of them, even though he’s not as physically menacing as the other three".

I have no problem with risks, sometimes they pay off, sometimes they don't. DT's are particularly tough to draft.

taths the problem. it wasn't that great of a draft. not sure much of anyone aside from austin collie and mike thomas that would have done well. that whole draft was a big crap shoot.

Between the Irvin pick (93) and the Goodson pick (111), Brian Hartline is probably the only player worth mentioning.
