Just incase you needed more evidence that Peppers is a moron...

Here's what I took from this to make Pep a moron:

I was a fan of Delhomme for years. I defended him against naysayers more times than I can count...

But he did not "get a raw deal". In 2009, h had a career low completion percentage of 55.5% (as a Panther), with 8 TD versus 18 Interceptions, and a 59.4 QB rating. He did this without any significant injuries to himself or the offense... and the same top 2 receivers that he had for our playoff runs. On top of that, he got to walk away with one HELL of a severance package.

Jake Delhomme did not "get a raw deal". He let his fan base down with poor play that merited his departure. That's not JUST business... its also about doing your job... something he lost touch with for some reason in 2009.

Pep has been known to make some aloof, poorly thought out statements. this one takes the cake.

Maybe Peppers really believes that. Or maybe he's just got some vendetta against the panthers FO and thinks their evil or something. Either way he's old news to us and our backs are going to burn his ass October 10.

Yeah, we really gave Jake a raw deal:

- We signed him as an undrafted FA when nobody was interested and handed him the starting QB job after a good performance in one game.

- When he blew his elbow out we held his spot open and waited for his return.

- After he had a meltdown in the AZ game we gave him a huge contract extension mostly as a symbolic vote of confidence.

- We allowed him to remain the starting QB even after he had thrown a league-high 18 interceptions and only took the job away when he hurt himself.

- Instead of handing him a clipboard for the remainder of his career we handed him a 12 million dollar check so he could have an opportunity to be a starter for someone else and we held a press conference to pay him the respect he deserved.

100% of the other QB's in the NFL would love to sign up for this kind of "raw deal". Peppers sounds much more intelligent when he keeps his mouth shut.

Well, the Bears (Peppers' team) did play the Browns (Delhomme's team) last night, and was asked about the reunion by a reporter.

I'd hardly call that fixation.

I'd call Peppers comments sour grapes. Truth is, he didn't want to leave but the Panthers wouldn't pay him the kind of $ he wanted. He's in a Bears uniform for the $ and nothing more... enjoy.

Huh? You know the Panthers offered him more money than the Bears did, right?

Wow :rolleyes5:

Yes and he ignored that offer because in his own words he felt like he didn't deserve that kind of money coming off a 2.5 sack season.

Right after he signed with Chicago, he said it was a shame because for a couple million more he would have stayed... sounds like a guy that really wanted to go play in Chicago, LOL

I'm a Peppers fan, but it angers me when the guy leaves town and talks poo. The Panthers treated him and Jake fairly, how about a little class?

Love it.. only the folks who see you every day can make the call that you are slacking, according to Pep. Umm.. I'm sorry, but when you have complete games where the only thing you produce is 1 tackle and maybe 2 pressures... people don't need to see you every day to call that one.

And Peppers is right. Its impossible for a fan to know just by the numbers is a player is slacking off, or having a bad game, or if the other team is just doing a good job.

That being said, Peppers was wrong about one thing. Jake did not get a raw deal. He got a boatload of money from us, so its hard to see how he got a raw deal. He got let go because he didn't perform, and he still got a lot of money. Thats not a raw deal.
