A good friend of mine transferred there to finish school. Hopefully I can get up there to see them sometime. Never been, but I'd probably rather drop in there than NYC, Miami, LA, etc.

Anyway, Rock Bottom is awesome and everyone from the Huddle that reads this thread should partake in its clean, laid back atmosphere.

I used to work there in the late 90's. It was a fun place to work. Testing a different sample of beer before each shift was always fun (especially if they poured too many!). Love their beers. I haven't been there in quite a while, but they had great food too, the last time I was there.

Ive been in there once only because we were waiting to get into Discovery Place and it was close. ...i saw it as just another chain brew pub, nothing special at all.

Would never see it as a destination restaurant in Charlotte.

I was going to buy it yesterday, but I've already spent too much on the various Groupons (and I already spend too much on beer). I do love Rock Bottom's beers and food, though. Their jambalaya is pretty awesome.

Rock Bottom is a chain, but that shouldn't dissuade lovers of craft beer from going. David Gonzalez, the brewmaster there, is always turning out one-off casks of interesting beers in addition to the usual beers you'll find on the menu.

I need to get up there one day.

Course I haven't been out drinking in years.
