Devin Thomas FTW. He's young. He's cheap. He's a guy that could be cut simply because he's not one of Shanahan's guys. He's got decent upside, good size, and would be a substantial upgrade over every receiver on our roster not named Steve Smith. Sometimes just a change of scenery/system can do wonders for a guy.

I know you guys are laughing at the Jaguars WR Core, and rightfully so, but if Tiquan Underwood makes it to the Practice Squad again that may be a good target to go after. He can easily be a slot field stretcher, its just the Jaguars have 3-4 of those guys already. Not to mention, David Garrard makes all of the WR look bad.

I would take T Redskins WR Devin Thomas in a heartbeat.

I like his size(6'2" 215lb) but considering he was the Skin's # 2 draft choice in2008,i am wondering if they would be willing to part ways with him this soon?

I realize he has had some nagging injuries and supposely immaturity issues,if these are indeed a thing of the past,Thomas could be an ideal fit for us.

I thought of that too, but I've read on several rumor sites he may get cut. I know it's early to give up on a young guy with potential, but sometimes new coaches come in and are quick to drop guys that aren't "their guys". Look at Marshall in Denver. 100+ receptions every year coming into his prime and boom traded just like that. It could happen.

Thing is, Thomas would be cheap and if it didn't work out, no harm no foul for us.

In no particular order outside of Smitty:

1. Smitty

2. Lafell

3. Gettis

4. AE

5. New guy

I can see us going with this, depending mainly on who we can acquire. I'm done with Jarrett, not overly fond of Moore, and not seeing how we carry more than 5 WRs this season. So, there's my take..

Sounds good, but I am not sure how taking somebody else's failed project is any better than keeping our own failed projects.

This whole debacle has us all so blind that we're arguing over someone else dinner scraps. To borrow the phrase we all so much love, "It is, what it t'is". Talk about game stats all you want but the coaches have seen a lot more reps than we have and have a much better idea of what they can do.

I s'pose the honorable thing to do here as a fan is to extend our new WR coach the benefit of the doubt and trust that our 2 really is on that roster. . . and his name beings with L bishes!. .nah, but we should trust the man since he hasnt given us a reason not to yet. I assure you that Tolbert's opinion matters to Fox. If your guy comes to you and says "Eh yo, Boss, this dude with the peanut shaped head aint so bad. . he can start for us". Then youre gonna trust that right? (especially because he called you "Boss" and that's just baller to begin with.)

If we pick someone up of waivers then it will NOT be for the 2 spot. It will be for st's to replace Wright.

I wouldn't consider Devin Thomas a failed project. He's shown some decent flashes. He's got decent siza and speed, good hands and is only 23. If he was dropped, it's because he's not Shanahans guy, not because he's necessarily a failed project. He's only going into his third year.

If their is football next year and we have a new coach, would anybody here be surprised if the new coach dropped every receiver we have that's not Smitty? I sure wouldn't.

I stick with a project and see it through to the end, and I try to teach my daughter the same thing. But if the project isn't going as well as you'd hoped and it's not your project to begin with, then sometimes you just have to cut ties and move on.
