Interesting email this morning....

I wouldn't call Moore cut, even if someone else comes on. I think it's likely Guy heads to IR.

Smith

LaFell

New Guy

Moore

Gettis

Edwards

I doubt Guy goes to IR. Ham strings can heal with time and he want play a critical role. Moore is as good as gone by now. Jarrett has even out played him in the preseason.

He's injured it twice now. I don't think it's incredibly serious, but I think he was on the bubble anyway.

I'd love to keep him here, as I think he's got the potential, but we've got to many other guys that you could say the same for.

Guy still was hurt by the ham he was just allowed to play. Hamstrings are a injury that linger but dont always keep you out of games. He is def on the bubble but he also dose the right things to keep him on the team.

look at young guys thats having a good preaseon.some of the guys are the top you can take off because they will make their teams.guys like Victor cruz and Stephen Williams.etc

http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=0&statisticCategory=RECEIVING&conference=null&season=2010&seasonType=PRE&d-447263-s=RECEIVING_YARDS&d-447263-o=2&d-447263-n=1

I know its just preseason, but you have to go through +/- 100 receivers (depending on the category) before you see a "CAR".

That's pretty good chances that more than a couple WR's will be available that are better than what we have.

One man's trash is another man's treasure..... to cite a very obvious example Randy Moss' career looked done in Oak, then he came to New England and had a amazing season. Not saying were going to get a Randy Moss, but there might be a semi-decent number two out there that is stuck in a logjam of good receivers (ie New York Giants)

Yeah, but Moss was an all-pro receiver before that happened who left not because there were better receivers ahead of him, but because he was unhappy. I do agree, though, that surely there are some guys who are better than what we've got who might not make another team's roster.

1- how do you know he learns the playbook better? how do you know he runs the correct routes? Pretty sure there was something grossly wrong on that play last game.

5 - Moore and LaFell have a better yard per catch....they also have made some fluke catches and missed ones that are inexcusable. Jarrett has done his part and could easily be leading every statisticall aspect if Moore hit him while wide open and Gross didn't get a bogus penalty. Jarrett has quietly looked the best this preseason.

Because no one has had to take him by the hand and show him were to line up on the field, and I have yet to see a QB have to yell at him to get off/on the line. All things that have been done to Jarrett THIS pre-season.

So "fluke" catches don't count as much as overthrown passes? You Jarrett lovers amaze me. The best thing that you can think of that he has done this pre-season is to get overthrown on a deep ball.

IF Moore hadn't of underthrown the deep ball to Lafell during the Ravens game that turned into an INT then his stats would be even better. If Moore would have gotten the fade a little deeper into the endzone then Lafell would have a TD catch. If Moore would have thrown the out route more on target then Lafell would have better stats.

See how stupid all of that sounds? So stop saying IF (insert another player here) would have __________ then Jarrett would have way better stats. Its a stupid arguement.

Jarrett is never going to be nothing more than a REALLY slow WR that can catch shortyardage but can't be relied upon because he can not get open consistently.

I strongly disagree. Jarrett has the lowest ypc of any of our receivers. His YPC are lower than all three of our tightends for that matter. At least the others (Moore, Lafell, and Gettis) have the potential for a long pass. Jarrett hasn't shown he can do anything that a back out of the backfield can't do.

Jarrett should add 20 lbs and try to be a tight end. Thats what he is better suited for.

I'll take a guy who can make catches he is suppose to make vs. a guy who doesn't do that yet pulls in a circus one.

I am not a Jarrett lover, I just won't bash him when he doesn't deserve it. Jarrett has made several nice grabs this preseason. The missed chance by Moore was just another example of Jarrett having no problem once he gets off the line.

if that was Jarrett on that deep ball that was picked to LaFell...you would bash him for easing up at the very end. He wasn't going to catch it but the defender might not have either.

I am not singing Jarrett's praises. Jarrett hasn't look great.....but unfortunately no one has looked better than him overall yet. So if it is a discussion of just Moore and Jarrett. Moore should get cut. Neither will be here after this season. Jarrett can at least be on the field to block in sets Moore would be worthless.

if Gross didn't have that bogus call, then Jarrett wouldn't have the lowest ypc. In terms of evaluating Jarrett....that play factors in even if the stats sheet doesn't show it. I have yet to see a WR get as open for a TD this preseason as Jarrett did last game.

Jarrett can't even figure out which down it is...come on people...3rd and 10 he runs a two yard route?????

ROFL, his time has come and gone

I spilled my coffee this morning, Jarrett is surely the cause.

You have watched Davidson/Fox call plays.....you really feel confident that was on the WR? They have been cussed out on TV for there bogus playcalling (Steve is an equal opportunity hater).

Woulda, shoulda, coulda, but didn't. In three years, Jarrett has done exactly what he has done this preseason. Catch short passes that tight ends usually catch.

If we are going to cut somebody, it should be the guy who has been here the longest and shown little.

Well usually when the coaches are hoping to get stopped on third and long they run a draw play so yes I have watched this several times...he should have gotten to the sticks, no questions ask...PERIOD!

I am fine with them letting Jarrett go.....just not for Moore to have a spot. When all is said and done Jarrett can be no the field blocking and sucking. Moore would just be sucking from the sideline as he can't block well enough to be on the field w/ Smitty for consecutive downs.
