John Clayton (ESPN) ranks the QBs

Kolb being ranked that high. What has he done in the NFL? Nothing but yet he is ranked 24th.

Since when is being ranked 24th, in the bottom 25% of the league, and behind Alex Smith and Jason Campbell considered high?

Clayton's analysis is spot on when it comes to Kolb. He is the perfect QB for Andy Reid's system and groomed to be so. He has him as a hit or miss with a big upside. 50% chance he 'makes it', 50% he don't. Sounds about right to me.

If you arguing the point that Moore should be higher than Kolb that I might not argue but I don't think Kolb is too high.

Just got out of class. my thoughts:

*If Matt Leinart wasn't from USC, he'd be dead last, hes horrid.

*Jay Cutler- big arm, thats it. will Never be elite. too high.

*Romo- its obvious and not worth repeating

*Shaub- leads in the NFL in passing last season, yet sits 14th...? Its more than that really, hes better than a good portion of guys before him

and finally,

*If this is really based on preseason performance, Brett Favre wouldn't be in the top 5...so what the hell is it based on?

The only win in Matts career that came against a team resting its starters was the last one over New Orleans. Tampa Bay was resting their starters in Week 17 of the 2007 season.

Pretty obvious you have no idea what you are talking about. Vikings on Sunday Night Football. Giants in the last game of their home stadium. both were fighting for #1 seed in the playoffs, and a playoff berth respectively. So maybe you should check your "facts". also with that logic, Kolb should be last. he beat up the chiefs...thats it

Disagreements:

Schaub is way too low..should be top 10

Moore should be around 24 or 25

Alex Smith should be around 28 or 30

Leinart and Anderson should be 31 and 32...they are horrible

Smith is going to have a bigger year than Moore is.

Carson Palmer as a top 10 QB is lol worthy.

EDIT: This dude seriously ranked Trent Edwards, Byron Leftwich, and AZ's dreaded QB combo ahead of Moore? Wow.

I thought this list was supposed to be based off of their chance at being elite? Not current production? The chance for the Arizona guys to produce higher stats is there because of the offense they play in. Byron gets to inherit a beyond talented team in Pitt for a few weeks. Edwards... not sure why he is higher than anyone.

This list is obviously based on which QB's Clayton would/would not screw.

Probably someone at ESPN found the list in his desk and he told them it was for a story. This was the best way to explain the list he could come up with on short notice and the best story he could write from the list.

Dude, they had given up almost 250 pts by the time they played us. For a team that went 5-0 and was held as the super bowl favorites early on, the downslide started long before week 16.

I am confused is "us" the Panthers and is "they" the Giants because by the time the Giants played the Panthers the Giants D had 331 points scored on them, hence the 24 ppg. So maybe they were on a downhill slide all season.

Well, after the first 5 games they were 3-8 and one of those wins over the lowly Redskins so you decide how long they were going down hill.

If you seriously think a team that goes 3-8 in the last 11 games were not going south then...

I think people are upset for the simple fact that Kolb is ranked that much higher then Moore and based on numbers when each player was given a chance then Matt's are much better. I just don't think we have seen enough of Kolb, I mean hell we don't know a lot about Moore but he threw more passes last year(138) then Kolb has thrown in his whole career(130).

I just dont like that Moore got one quick line with no thought on it. "He is 6-2 as a starter" Well no kidding! But to think a slow start Clausen will replace him is stupid. The reason I brought Kolb up is his numbers are bad for his games and the only game he did good was against the Chiefs. Im sure Kolb will improve but to think he will come in and light it up and be good is unrealistic. He is going to struggle and Philly will be calling for his head.
