No Meeks was not a Dungy puppet. He had total control over his defense. Meeks has barely called any blitzes since he has been here. I dont know where you guys are getting this fictional nonsense from. I talked to several Colt fans and they couldnt stand the guy and couldnt beleive Carolina was dumb enough to hire him. As long as Meeks and Fox are here we will continue to get abused on defense.

They only offered him $13 million a year. He's worth more and every penny what the bears gave him. The panthers defensive line is going to be awful next year without him.

Its hard to be optimistic about the defense when Damione Lewis is your best defensive lineman.

Thats what I keep telling people too. This news shouldnt come as a surprise at all. The panthers will do everything in their power to make sure jake is the starter and saving face with the fans at the same time. They'll claim its a "competition" and Jake won fair and sqaure. I bet they may even give the receivers money under the table to drop some passes from Moore.

Meeks was an average DC in Indy. He's done an ok job here only because he inherited a good defense when he got here. What does this have to do with our sucky WR's?

I mean I know like half of your posting involves swinging from Julius Peppers'/Kris Jenkins' nuts so I guess your philosophy is that the mediocrity/averageness (no I'm not seriously implying that Peppers/Jenkins were/are average calm the f**k down people) you know is better than what that which eats coal and shits gunpowder in the preseason. This doesn't extend to Jake for some reason though so the theory needs tweaking but I'm sure with a generous grant from the National Science Foundation we'll get there.
