Smith not too impressed with Panthers’ receivers

I somewhat agree, but to say that we have just as good of a chance to win the Super Bowl as the Saints, Minny, and GB is just not the truth.

A chance, of course, but those 3 have a much better chance than us...as of right now.

why not? The Saints are not a proven consistant team. They didn't have a winning record prior to the Superbowl season. Payton is 2-6 against the vanilla John Fox.

Until an NFC team proves they can be a proven threat like an Indy I ain't gonna give them that repsect.

IMO the AFC is more top heavy than the NFC, but that shouldn't take much away from the best teams in the NFC.

You want to play the proven threat card, take a look at Philly over the past 10 years.....

And who are we to talk of consistant teams.....hell we can't even put together winning seasons.

Listen man, the NFC is certainly winnable by 16 teams, but you have to agree with me that there are a few in there that have a much better chance than some others.

well, the McNabb led Eagles imo were the only consistant team imo you could pencil in every year. They don't exist anymore.

We aren't consistant, we are an example of the NFC teams though. 2008 vs. 2009.

Until, a team from the NFC emerges to be proven like the McNabb era Eagles then I don't think they should get the Indy, NE, etc. talk/respect. You really think the Saints or Falcons are sitting in position with a clear edge at the postseason?

Come on man, take the homer glasses off and you can answer this question for yourself...I would think it will take us a couple of years to be competative in this division again!

Fear not though, lol, we have TB in our division so we shouldn't finish last

I do respect your homerism....but good lawdy.

I never said Falcons, but I do think that the Saints, Vikings, and Packers have a much "clearer edge" than we do. That does not make me less of a fan, just a realist.

Consistancy comes in the form of an "elite" QB on your roster, something that we have never really chased until now. Hopefully one of ours can develop into one.

Competitive in the NFC South is something that just can't be predicted. There is no more topsy turvy, cutthroat division in the league. Last year's cellar denizen is the next year's rising star.

Things do look rough for us right now, but it's best to hold judgment at least until that plane ride back from New Jersey.

it isn't homerism, as we don't have to include the Panthers. Parity in the NFL is just too great. Few teams have proven they don't fall under that assumption (those teams reside in the AFC).

Look at the Falcons. A couple of seasons ago they were believed to be representing the rear of the division for years. Years to recover. They made the playoffs that very year the doom and gloom talk started. The mightly fall and the weak rise every year. Give me a single consistant team in the NFC then outside of the McNabb Eagles? Just one team. I am not gonna give a team that kind of respect b/c of one season.........Carolina is an example of why you don't buy into that with NFC teams.

Green Bay

They've missed the playoffs, what, 4 times since 1992? Something like that? Thats pretty consistant

2 winning seasons in the past 5 seasons. How far back to you have to go for back to back years?

the Panthers have matched that what they have done over the past 5 years.
