The NE system kicks ass. Whatever Cassel did this past year, his stats were better than Jake's. The guy put up two 400 yard games in a row, and can run the ball when in a tight spot.

I wouldn't do this particular trade, but Cassel should not be underestimated.

A back-up that put up superior numbers than our six million dollar man.

What people are failing to realize about Cassel is that he doesn't throw the deep ball. Like 95% of his passes were less than 10 yards and his receivers got very good YAC. So, in my opinion, for Cassel to be a valid QB for us we need more receiving weapons that can get YAC besides Smith. This also means we need to actually do screens and short dumps to our backs more.

So, until that happens, I don't believe Cassel would be a good fit for us.

Although I kinda wonder how an NFL QB can be a system QB. You usually dont hear that too much in the pros. College yes, but not the pros. Im not saying Cassel is going to be Johnny Unitas or anything, but he is definitely talented.
