‘Tis the Season of Overreaction....

from CatCrave:

“Put in Clausen. Sign Antonio Bryant. Fire Fox. Trade a running-back.”

Stand by your man.

Boy, some fans are in mid-season form, already.

After the Panthers’ 15-7 win(?) Saturday night against the Tennessee Titans, there is still a very unsettling feeling in the queen city. Fans are not satisfied, nor should they be, with the paltry performance by the Panthers’ offense so far in the preseason.

But I beg you, step away from the ledge and/or take off your Jimmy Clausen jerseys. I plead to you, let us remember one very important fact…this is the preseason, folks.

Take a deep breath, and ask yourself three questions:

  • Has Matt Moore ever looked like an NFL caliber quarterback in any of his previous three preseasons?
  • Has the Panthers’ offense ever set the world on fire in the preseason under John Fox?
  • Has the defense ever looked so determined; so hungry?

Positive outlook--

but but but

but our offense looks horrible and will be horrible forever. it doesnt matter that 3 of our key players are out and its preseason so we are testing the limits of everything

but but but

armanti edwards will amount to nothing ever and we should cut him now. even though hes only been playin WR for a little while and probably wont develop (into a damn good receiver) till midseason

2008 against the washington redskins. it set the tone for the rest of the season.

i think that's what people are looking for.

both the offense and defense were on fire that night...so far this season, the defense is hotter than hell and the offense went up in smoke.

Now we must depend on the roster spot fighters to provide the team with some spark come Thursday Night.
