Brayton's ability to play both DT and DE means he'll basically fill 2 roster spots and the team will carry one less DT and someone else gets a roster spot, like a kickoff specialist or a third QB or...

I know that some of the young guys have looked good, but speculation that Brayton is getting cut is unwarranted. All these young guys have looked great in preseason, but that doesn't always translate into regular season. Especially for a guy like Hardy who will need to adjust to the rigor of an NFL season.

brayton is a mauler against the run. no chance we cut him.

First of all, Brayton has never been cut by the Panthers.

He played out his contract like a professional should. Then he left a offer from the Panthers on the table to find out what he was worth on the free agency market. He then came back and signed the new contract with the Panthers.

Second, Brayton has been moved inside to the defensive tackle position on obvious passing downs, ever since he has been a Panther. That is nothing new.

Brayton will not be cut. He is the veteran, and the leader on the defensive line.
