Gettis has looked as good as Jarrett, he has made some short catches and some intermediate tough catches just like Dwayne. He may not be a high pick from a big school but he has done everything as good as Dwayne this preseason as a rook. LaFell also impressed me in the last game, yes he dropped one (that is a tough one to catch, but an NFL WR has to make it). He made a magnificant one handed catch and later juked his man for some good YAC and a first.

so no one has looked better? That is all I am saying....cutting Jarrett just doesn't make sense. Hoepefully LaFell will be better than Jarrett by week 8.

I agree that Jarrett looks better than Gettis and Guy right now. But I don't want to keep Jarrett if it means Gettis, Guy or Moore don't make the team when they've got far more potential than Jarrett, in my opinion.

Jarrett isn't such an all-star that missing him a few games while LaFell and company learn the ropes is going to make a huge difference.

Nope...nobody has looked better, they all look like third stringers to me. Before camp I thought there was no way Jarrett would make the team, I was wrong. He could be an asset in a three WR set, but if we put him out there in our base package then it will be more of the same for our passing O. We have to put someone on the field to make them pay for bracket coverage on Smitty, Jarrett is not a threat to hurt them.

I'm not as hung up on Moore. I am already considering him gone. I like Gettis' potential and want him on the team. No way to keep all 3 of those guys even if Jarrett wasn't kept.

Putting Dwayne out there is no different than putting an old Moose out there. If Dwayne is our starting WR and he is no more of a threat than Moose, we should expect nothing more than another season of pick 6's. You simply cannot afford to throw the ball into an all star wideout that is triple covered nor can you throw it to a slow ass wideout who can catch anything but has a DB constantly draped all over him. We have to have a wideout who can at least potentially burn someone on the field opposite Smith if we want to be better.

You're right: there's no way to keep all three. This is why I really feel that the organization may just cut ties with Jarrett a year early in order to give some of these younger guys a chance.

Maybe Guy will go to IR due to his hammy issues?

Smith

LaFell

Moore

Wright

Gettis

Edwards

Well D-Will didn't look good in the last preseason game so definitely cut him despite everything he has done in actual games. Then start J-Stew oh wait he hasn't even played this season so he's garbage..so Sutton then. Oh wait that's not gonna work cause he was't that great this preseason either Not averageing great yards and a fumble..........goodbye. So start Goodson. Well his average in the preseason hasn't been anything to write home about so...... Oh good lord please provide us with an unproven 2nd round rookie RB or else we are soooooooooooooooooo screwed. Preferably one that went to a big name college and didn't win a lot of games but had a rich dady to get him a RB coach so that we can say he has a good pedigree. Yeah that will make it all better.

Again I like Clausen for the future but this sh*t is out of hand. Starting to look like an Eagles message board.

I agree, the OP should get mocked.

if I were to make a balls-out prediction by following my gut feeling, that could still potentially make me look dumb at the end of the season, it would be that Armanti Edwards has more catches, yards, and TDs at season's end than Jarrett. (caveat that part of my reason for this gut-feeling is that I am not at all convinced that Jarrett will survive final cuts and that Edwards will find a way to catch a TD at some point)

I agree. I just don't think a guy is on the roster who can do that this season. it would be nice to know who got the play wrong on that deep throw to LaFell (which he was open for)......b/c those deep passes is when easy picks happen when one of the two (QB/WR) has the play wrong.

I don't think we have that guy either, and I'm honestly not expecting for us to go out and get that guy. Based on the players we have I believe I would rather have LaFell or hell even Gettis out there oppostie Smitty and in three WR sets have Jarrett in with one of those guys and have Smith in the slot.

First off, the best thing Jarrett has done this entire pre-season was to run so slow that the DB couldn't help but run up his ass.

The "40 yd TD pass that woulda, coulda, shoulda" is bs. You expect me to believe that Jarrett is suddenly legitamite because he was overthrown on a deep route? Come on man.

This is like saying that because Sutton caused a fumble against TN he is possibly the hardest hitter on the team. Actually, scratch that, what Sutton did makes a better case for him being the hardest hitter than Jarrett getting overthrown does for him being a good option at WR.

Jarrett is gone. Fox will not carry more than 5 WR. The pass game is just not important enough to him to carry 6. Especially if it means that we have to let someone like Sutton, Davis, Irvin, Landri, or Pugh go to make room for Jarrett. On top of all that Jarrett plays no ST.

Smith

Gettis

Lafell

Edwards

Wright.

I will throw it out there that there is a slim chance if Wright goes to IR that Jarrett could squeak on to the 53. Would rather see Guy or Moore make it though.
