The morning coffee

It's like clockwork. 30 minutes after taking my first sip, I'm heading for the bathroom.

And is it just me, or is the first cup of coffee of the morning always the best? I seem to despise my second and sometimes third cup...but the first always hits the spot.

I love a fresh cup in the morning. I'm starting to miss working at Starbucks. Mostly because it was free. Gotta have my cup of Joe with a smoke in the morning. A black n mild enhances the flavor.

I prefer bold coffees, but a lot of people drink the milds and mediums thinking that because the flavor is lighter that there is less caffeine. This is a lie that has been perpetuated by the man the slowly get you fugers addicted and keep coming back. It's a trap people... Its a gaud damned mothafugin' trap.

Excuse me... I just woke up and I haven't had my coffee yet.

I feel you.

Also, a lot of the people that flood their coffees with sugar and cream don't realize that bolder coffees don't have to be excessively bitter. Starbucks is a prime example of this. I tried several of their city blends and hated them, but found that their darker roasts (like Cafe Verona) are actually pretty decent.

Nowadays, though, I just make my own at home or at work. I'm thinking about getting into home roasting. :)
