Ticket Prices Next Season....

mush

Recommended Posts

Conventional wisdom says after a 12-4 season you raise prices because fan satisfaction typically would be up and they would accept it more. But the economy is in the dumps. No first rounder as of now. How much will the team spend in free agency?

There were few increases in last year's invoices.

So does the team say economy be damned and jack 'em up high, give only slight increases, or hold the line on ticket prices?

They better not raise ticket prices!! There wasnt one single give away this season. No Hat, No Seat Cushion, No flimsy Jersey AND we didnt even get a calender this year!!! I know "the economy is tight" but how much less did the Panthers really make this season campared to last and those lines at the concessions didnt look any shorter this year either.

Lots of sports teams are not looking happy about 2009. Games selling out at the end of 2008 wasn't a problem because most of those tickets were season tickets sold early in the year before the economy tanked.

Word on the street is that there are going to be a large number of tickets left unpaid for as people weigh food vs Panthers (or other favorite pasttime) options.

Which should be a good thing for the fan who can't normally get tickets to games. Unless the scalpers suck 'em all up. Yeah, that would suck. (except that the scalpers have to assume that people will still have discretionary income...and that's a chance even they may not want to take right now.)

i believe i read somewhere, the nfl agreed to no price increase due to economy.

I didn't read that, but did see that they told teams to reel in the price of playoff tickets - they are always more expensive than regular season tickets, but they were not as expensive as what they could have been due to this mandate.

yeah like GTG said that was the NFL on playoff tickets. NFL dictates the prices of playoff tix but each team is free to charge whatever the market will bear for the regular season tickets.

I got a nice golf towel and some Bojangles gift cards at the Lions game.
