Roster Predicition / Roster cuts

Well after tonight, I'll just make one change to the way I had my depth chart before tonight. Eric Moore over Irvin. Irvin did nothing tonight in a crucial #4 preseason game while Moore still produced. They usually choose production over need even if that position is log jammed and even if the need is a glaring hole (not saying that DT is a glaring hole this year, but I thought they'd keep 5 after the mess last year). For example, the number of LBs last year to number of DTs (even when the depth at DT was very poor).

OFFENSE:

WR1: Steve Smith - Kenneth Moore - Armanti Edwards (DP)

LT: Jordan Gross - Garry Williams

LG: Travelle Wharton

C: Ryan Kalil

RG: Mackenzy Bernadeau - Duke Robinson

RT: Jeff Otah - Geoff Schwartz

TE: Jeff King - Dante Rosario - Gary Barnidge

WR2: Dwayne Jarrett - Brandon LaFell (DP) - David Gettis (DP)

FB: Tony Fiammetta

RB: DeAngelo Williams - Jonathan Stewart - Mike Goodson - Tyrell Sutton

DEFENSE:

LE: Charles Johnson - Greg Hardy (DP)

DLT: Ed Johnson - Derek Landri

DRT: Louis Leonard - Tank Tyler

RE: Tyler Brayton - Everette Brown - Eric Moore

SLB: James Anderson - Eric Norwood (DP)

WLB: Jon Beason - Jamar Williams

LCB: Chris Gamble - Captain Munnerlyn - Robert McClain (DP)

RCB: Richard Marshall - C.J. Wilson - Brian Witherspoon

SS: Charles Godfrey - Marcus Hudson

FS: Sherrod Martin - Jordan Pugh (DP)

SPECIAL TEAMS:

K: John Kasay

P: Jason Baker

KOS: Todd Carter - Jason Baker

1 more change. Cant remember anything on Jackson since the first game and he didnt play thursday. Looking over the stats, Ivy actually did pretty darn good this preseason. Soooo...I cut Jackson and added Ivy.

Wise man. Ivy was in alot of plays better was never called out on them. I think he also caused a couple of fumbles.

As Regards to Morty Ivy, I agree with a lot of you that he is probably one of our best back up LBs but I think the team likes Nick Harris since he is a young converted saftey with a lot of talent who can also play special teams.

Senn might get stashed on IR now that he got dinged up in game four.

As for Witherspoon I know a lot of you guys are high on him for his KR ability but I just don't see it happening. We really didn't give him a lot of chances at it during preaseason and we just have better corners.

Killier Kat I agree with your lineup almost completely except.

[-]Kenny Moore

[+]Charly Martin

[-] Brian Witherspoon

[+] CJ Davis or a different O-line pick up off of waivers

[-] Morty Ivy

[+] Nick Harris

[-] Eric Moore or David Gettis

[+] Some WR taken off of waivers

PS Candidates:

David Gettis

Tony Pike

RJ Stanford

Trent Guy

Andre Neblett

Rashawn Jackson

Corvey Irvin

Jarrett isn't going anywhere. Do you really think John Fox will hand over playing time to a rookie receiver? They never gave Jarrett a chance. People can kick and scream that he did nothing in practice or whatever, but fact of the matter is when Fox played him in games...he found a way to produce. Chargers and Saints games come to mind. Plus we shouldn't forget that Jake Delhomme could only throw to a player with #89 on their jersey...it is what led to his downfall.

Outlook: Since being selected in the second round of the 2007 NFL draft, the former University of Southern California product has managed just 33 receptions for 388 yards and a touchdown. Jarrett’s speed was a concern coming out of college, and he has displayed little ability to gain separation at the NFL level. The Panthers have also not been happy that he refuses to use his big frame to shield defenders while making the catch. During the draft, the Panthers used third round picks on Brandon LaFell and converted quarterback Armanti Edwards, as well a sixth round pick on David Gettis. Both LaFell and Gettis are big receivers who have the size to replace Jarrett. The Panthers aren’t sold on Jarrett and you shouldn’t be either.

Those 2 games you speak of are numbers a #3 guy puts up every week. If that's what you remember of #80 and his career, you could be right, those may have been his best 2 games. That's why keeping a big, slow and lazy for 1 more season , hoping he "morphes" into Moose, is the exact reason he should be cut.

In 3 seasons he has been active for 21 games and has 33 catches and 1 TD, that is not a #2 guy, thats waiver wire numbers.:yesnod: If you need more info on Jarrett as a bust, "Google" it, there is lots of info out there, on the "Ghost".:cryin:

Seriously can some one explain to me who Charly Martin is and why he should be put on the roster over Moore?
better special teamer. not talking about returns, but return coverage. if wallace wright hadn't gotten hurt, he'd be the one getting kept over moore instead of martin. moore didn't stand that much of a chance.

I don't know why everyone was high on Ivy anyway. He got pushed around, and only made tackles after the play had gained some decent yardage. He showed no playmaking ability and questionable instincts. In the short time that Nic Harris has been here, he has easily outplayed him.
