Moore is less

Matt Foley

Matt has loooked good to me. If he had a faster WR or was throwing to Smitty on that long pass to Jarrett, it would have been a TD. And if Lafell caught that sideline pass it would have been a first down. Ive only seen 2 plays where Moore had bad plays. The high pass to Barnidge in the endzone and not seeing Wright when the DB fell down. Its only preseason and he's played good overall tonight. If a couple bad plays are gonna tarnish the way some people view him, they just might as well turn off the TV.

Ditto-A very good and factual summary.Once Matt Moore and his receivers get on the same page i look for our passing game to pickup.

Meanwhile, let's be cool and not panic.

Its more than just Matt Moore......they(as a offense) have not gotten into a rhythm. It too early to be a Moore hater.

WE have new WRs,we are missing our top WR and do not have a running game established .In addition I have not been very impressed with the play calling. We look flat as an offense. I dont think we can blame all our of troubles on Moore. We have had penalties ,dropped passes, poor route running, protection break down, and bad play calling

I think Matt will be fine and surprise you Meat, like he as pretty much every body every year that he's played. He'll be fine, and yes he will start the whole season...

He's faced some darn good defenses the last three games. Hey, how did Eli fair against the Ravens? Oh crap 9/18 and a pick... bench him now in favor a Bomar who had a TD pass... Kolb against the Chiefs... even worse.

Give me a break, it's the pre-season.

Yes, he's going to struggle some. But look at Matt Ryan and the kid with the Jets. The key here is that the Panthers have a line that theoretically isn't going to get Clausen killed....ala Tim Couch, David Carr, and other first round flameouts.

Ryan was pretty good, but thats a very rare occurrence. But Sanchez was terrible last year. The Jets won because of defense and run game, and thats about it. Well, that and they got to play us, which probably put them in the playoffs. Sanchez was adequate in the playoffs, having one bad game, one good game, and one average game. But overall, he was bad. If the Jets had a veteran QB, they probably would have won more games.

And fwiw, in his game against us this preseason, Sanchez was worse than either Moore or Clausen.

Imo Moore is behind where he needs to be right now. One bright spot I noticed

was that when the 2 min. drill forced Moore to get rid of the ball quick The

panthers started moving the ball. This made me realize, Moore holds the ball too

long. Part of this might be play calling or recievers not seperating tho.

Another issue is that when you watch Moore's head you can tell that he is

looking at where he is going to throwing the ball for too long.

IMO the panthers should call more mid - short routes, and involve the TEs

and RBs more in the passing game.

I mentioned in my last night's posting here, that he was showing me jake-like tendencies. Reading the latter posts it seems that many of you saw what I saw. jake would get very frustrated, very animated and then it was clearly downhill. If he did not have a resurrection during the game, specifically a major march downfield, he'd burn out. However, if he DID manage a rapid comeback, he was the most energized QB out there. When Matt Moore got some completetions for major gains, he started to show his excitement. It is that visible animation, good or bad, that tends to show the enemy where his head is at too...Guys like Brees, Aikman, or Montana could be excited, but definitely stoic and effective.

Lets not forget that we don't need Matt Moore to go out and be a Pro bowl QB. All we need him to do is move the ball and not turn it over seeing as we have what is probably the best rushing attack in the league. I will take 18/33 for 180 yards 0td/0int all day. As long as he doesnt turn the ball over we are in good shape. And to all of you who clearly don't understand the aspect that steve smith brings to the team maybe you should think about how much not having a legit deep threat hurts this offense. Without a deep threat all of a sudden they are more free to play 8-9 man fronts, safteys/linebackers dont have to drop as deep and all of a sudden you have 11 defenders in a 25 yard space instead of a 40 yard space. On top of that it is much more difficult to run the ball. And no effective run game=no effective playaction.
