I'm actually....afraid of growing up...

Its funny how when you're like 8 and you can't wait to get grown, move out, be by yourself and whatever, and when you get one foot out of the door, its like ehhhhh. Most people my age (17) are worried about what they're going to do after high school or college but thats not really my problem. I know what I'm going to do. I can't plan every single detail, but for the most part, I think I'm ok. My problem, is that I don't want to fail. I...hate to think about..the what ifs..what if this happens what if that happens etc, and I end up nowhere. I set these big expectations for myself, and already I'm worried about failing. IDK, maybe its normal...I hope it is anyway.

thats all

I hear ya. There are worst things than fearing failure. It sucks but it will help you be successful. At least you don't believe you are certainly going to fail, that's much more difficult to overcome.

My advice is value education above all things right now.

Good Luck.

Just remember don't marry the first woman that gives you some.

wise words from a wise man...

17, wow... Seems like just yesterday I was 17, and now I'm 24 and time has gone by so fast it's nothing but a blur to me. Take advantage of every opportunity that presents itself to you, and try to waste as little time as possible because it flies by. And remember, have fun. Responsibility is a bitch. I'm still trying to get a grasp on this whole being an adult thing. The less responsibilities you have the better off you'll be so don't go creating any. Focus on school and jobs. Get pussy, but wrap it up before you dive in. Don't drink and drive. Find a friend that doesn't drink and make him/her drive your ass around. Also just to reiterate don't marry the first woman that gives you some. Your life will be hell if you do.

This post is much more awesome if you imagine that Not-Awesomeness is saying it to your face to the tune of Shattners rendition of "Rocket Man".

Dude just the fact that you worry about it tells me you'll be fine. I used to worry if I would fail at everything and just end up a bum on the street.

I'm going to give you some really good advice, and be sure not to scoff at it...

...never post anything serious on this board.

Just remember don't marry the first woman that gives you some.

What if it was someone rich and beautiful? Or just rich?
