Hollywood is in such bad shape that a moderately original film like Inception with solid directing, production and acting is automatically hailed as the height of genius.

No, I haven't seen it, as it doesn't seem like its up to Nolan's usual standards. Probably won't either.

If you havent seen it, how can you comment on it?

I sure as hell am glad that I don't have a picture of Gene Shalit shoved so far up my ass that I cant enjoy simple entertainment.

There is some in that list that don't appeal to me as much as others but Ill see most of them and Ill have fun doing it.

Most of those movies are targeted for kids or the simple minded.

Simple minded? What exactly are you looking for in a movie? I posted this in the nerd section, so I thought it fit, comics, books, toys, disney rides, cartoons, and old tv shows turned into movies.

I don't have a problem with Comic Book movies although I think after the 3rd installment its time to stop.

It's the recycled mindless horsesh*t like, Scream 4, Underworld 4, MI 4, granted the first installment of those movies were good/solid, but C'mon how about coming up with something new instead of milking a series for everything its worth.

But thats ok there are enough Lemmings in the world so that hollywood can keep cranking out re-makes and Saw 12 & Sream 65.... Zzzzzzzzz

I don't have to see an ugly chick naked to know I don't want to.

I have not seen Inception either. However, I have a friend who is a tough movie cridic. It is very hard to please him. He said that Inception was the best movie he had seen in at least 5 years. He also was a big fan of the Dark Knight. He said that Inception is now Noland's masterpiece work. It was no longer the Dark Knight.

Hows the weather up there in that Ivory Tower?

Just as there is a place for movies like Never Let Me Go there's a place for Transformers 3. Not every trip to the theater needs to be for a film this caliber of The Lives of Others. Sometimes even the discerning movie goer want to just see big robots blow poo up or see Bruce Willis kill scores of people while dropping not so witty one liners.

"Kids or the simple minded"... fug! Life is too short to be that serious and think that much of yourself.

A little cloudy today acutally.

No sh*t there is a place for mindless action movies & I enjoy a good one as any other. But I'm sick of seeing 4 & 5 installements of the same crap, the core story has been told, move the fu*k on.

Who's being serious? I'm sorry if I'm not a lemming eating spoon full after spoon full of Hollywoods sh*t

I liked the Dark Knight, but I think Insomnia was Nolan's best work.
