The most consistant team in tne NFL is the Colts.

0-3

They have won 10 games or more for basically a decade and will do it again this year. Preseason is about working on specific areas and evaluating talent. Final scores don't mean poo.....if they mattered Indy wouldn't be 0-3.

The Colts are 4-21 over the last 6 preseasons...fuging losers.

Unfortunately the professional scouts have abandoned skill for size. You look at the three top quarterback prospects in the 2011 draft.... Luck, Locker, and Mallet.... and the only thing they have in common is >6'4".

Clausen put on an aeriel circus versus Luck in their last college football game but it will be Luck that goes top ten in the draft next year. Mallet has been incredibly inconsistent, but is very tall so of course must be good. And then there is Locker who is the second coming depsite lots of picks and of course was also out-dueled by mid second round Clausen in OT last year.

did you eat your flutie flakes? lol.

I think you guys are confusing the debate of "who is the better quarterback" with "who is the starter today".

We all know who the starter is today. The debate is whether the better QB is currently the backup and how long he will be the backup. No one here knows the answer to that question yet, hence the debate. But feel free to act like you do :)

Perhaps you are confusing who the best quarterback is, with who you think will be the best guy in a few years. Most of us think Clausen may be the starter down the road since he is signed for 4 years. But there only is now, and that guy is clearly Moore. Who knows who will be better a year or two from now. Not me or you. No one has a crystal ball.

Most of us are pretty glad we got Clausen in the second. First of all we had no first round pick and we got him pretty cheap. We got a great deal. You likely confuse support for Moore as dislike for Clausen and that couldn't be further from the truth. Most of us are happy we got him and are willing to wait until he is ready to compete for the starting job.

I was actually trying to steer the conversation toward your comment about Cantwell and professional scouting. My point was that scouts are slobbering over tall QBs right now who have a lot of ability but are very rough around the edges. I'm not sure if Cantwell falls into that camp or not but Pike definitely does. The difference with Pike though as that he was a freebie and those other guys will likely go top 20 in the draft.

There is no question that there are a bunch of things that influence your opportunities and circumstances. And draft position can surely be a huge factor in how long you have to prove yourself. The real problem for quarterbacks is that teams keep no more than 3 guys sometimes only 2 on the active roster. Still the good news is that even if he doesn't stick here, another team is going to pick him up and give him a chance.

If he gets beat out by Cantwell it certainly won't be because of draft position given Cantwell was a UDFA. And another six rounder, Greg Hardy, will certainly get playing time this year. So it isn't that he was drafted so low that he didn't get a chance.

He might be a victim of the numbers game unless he does something to swing the momentum in his favor.
