Panthers worth....one beeeeellion dollars

If you looked at Won/Loss records historically, you'd think the Panthers and Jaguars values would be reversed. I think it shows what a good job the Panthers have done marketing their product. I know it's all about the stadiums, but Jax is in a much more football-friendly state. The Panthers have pushed the Redskins out of NASCAR/NBA territory and carved a very nice niche for themselves. Jax's franchise, meanwhile, is this close to moving out west.

, but Jax is in a much more football-friendly state. .

This mostly applies to college football. Jacksonville is stupid spread out. Have you ever been there? Due to a consolidation between the county and the state in 1968 almost all of Duval county resides within the Jacksonville city limits. While this bolsters population numbers and tax revenue, it doesn't change the fact that "true" Jacksonville is a small city.

The real value in the numbers is that they are a testament to the owners of the respective franchises, and their business savvy, not necessarily the win/loss success of the teams. The Milwaukee Brewers sell out almost every home game in baseball and they are the epitome of mediocrity.

The Jaguars shot themselves in the paw when they kept David Gerrard and didn't draft The Golden Calf of Bristol.
