Yeah, I was going to advise you get your car Saturday. You want to goto the tailgate, right? You'll want to leave WF early then.

Yes, there are a few 4 Star restaurants in the area. Google "uptown charlotte" and then the keyword when looking for something. That's what the area is called, not "downtown". You may get better results that way. I know there are two steak houses but forget the names.

Do you not have tickets? You say you "really want seats on...". True the game is in October, but the visitor side is in the sun the entire game. I know you're from Cali and all, but I sit on the Panthers side. I can't imagine what it's like for those on the sunny side. Then again, in winter I freeze my ass off while they wear t-shirts haha.

Thats pretty good time given they make several stops along the way. Do they let you drink alcohol on Sunday morning on the train or is it prohibited before noon?

If taking that train ride to Charlotte is anything like opening up a thread on the Huddle, the train will derail around Mebane, NC.

It's a business train so it may be a straight shot. Amtrak didn't mention any stops in between.

I'm sure it's no alcohol, since you can't buy it before noon.

So, just curious, what makes you a Panthers fan? You originally from the Carolinas or something? The game starts at 1, so you need to leave early if you want to have time to tailgate with the guys. I would try to get there by 1130 at least. I have only been a few times, but it was a great time.

I have a lot of family that is from the Carolinas, brother in WF, grandma in Raleigh, most everybody else in Wilmington, and growing up my mom was a Raider fan and my dad was a 49er fan so when the Panthers came out I decided they would be my team (I was 12-13 at the time) and I've stuck with them through thick and thin ever since. I catch a lot of greif here in the Bay Area from people because I'm not a fan of SF or Oakland, but they can all eat a dick.

Thank you everybody for the valuable information, I think I'll rent the car Saturday night to avoid any hassle. I also think I'll avoid the visitor sideline. It's just not worth it to be in the sun all day just to heckle Pep. My lady doesn't do well with afternoon drinking in the sun, she'll get a major headache by dinner time.

Congrats on going to your first home game! I am actually really hoping to go to that game as well, but it is the day after we get back from Orlando. Going to Disney and Universal, so I dont know if I will have any $ left. lol But if we end up going maybe we will see you at the tailgate.

Also, about flights, it's cheaper to fly out of Charlotte than RDU. To go pretty much anywhere. I have no idea why.

Charlotte is one of the eastern seaboard hubs along with philly, atlanta and miami.

If by Saturday night, you really mean before 2 pm, you'll be fine. Most agencies close right after lunch.
