Most brutal song ever

There is only one band that can pull off a 20 minute prog death metal song and that band is Opeth. BTBAM tried and failed. Their problem is they are trying to be progressive for the sake of being progressive instead of being progressive because it sounds right. When you include banjo breakdowns in your songs just to be different it's time to re-evaluate yourself.

Oh, and Tool>>>APC.

"BTBAM tried and failed at 20 minute compositions" yet you posted Swim to the Moon a few posts above this

Again, just because YOU don't like it doesn't mean it has failed. While I absolutely love Opeth, their stylistic changes are not nearly as diverse and BtBAM's. Nor is it as technically proficient.

With that being said, I do agree that The Great Misdirect was a little choppy with transitions. It felt like they were making songs long just to make them long. Colors, on the other hand, felt more like each song was a complete idea and they all flowed very well. The progression was a little more natural.

And Banjo breakbacks are sick when no one else does them. :boxing_smiley:
