The broken nose was inspiring and all...

But now that this season is over, it's time to let that heart-warming story, and Ken Lucas, go. All these talks about getting rid of Delhomme and all is rubbish IMHO.

If we get rid of Turgo, I think the defense AUTOMATICALLY will play with more of a fire than they have. Plus, the scheme can't be any worse.

We all know Delhomme isn't going anywhere, so we can restructure (extend? yikes...) his contract to allow for more cap space, along with Gross and Peppers. I don't think Pep much cares for Turgo and his defensive philosophy.

Trade away Lucas for a fourth rounder or something, offloading something like $6.5M I think, and this offseason we won't have a big name 1st or 2nd rounder to sign, so that won't take its annual toll on the cap. Get rid of Landon Johnson and his $2M, Colclough and his $1.5M, and the restrucures I talked about earlier, and all of a sudden you've got some cap space for a key aquisition, be it on the D-Line or a wideout or whatever.

Just my thought of a silver lining amongst all this negativity. Maybe Jacksonville will let us have Del Rio back... :D

What bothered me more than anything this year was Fox. He just didn't come across as a coach who was disappointed when he should have been ---

In 2003, during our SuperBowl run, the John Fox I remember was a lot more in tune. I remember a lot of post games, even after wins, were he would say, "we won but we got some things to work on". As if, it's O.K. to be proud but let's be realistic too.

This season... Jake's play had been falling apart the last couple of weeks and our secondary has been just awful week after week --- the signs were all there. Lucas wasn't covering people, etc, ete etc. BUT instead of Fox saying, "We won, but we still need to work on some things like our secondary", all we heard was the same old crap like, "you win some, loose some", "i'll take any win in this league", "win is a win" bulls*** without recognizing that we needed to fix some key areas.

Fox just looked like somebody whose goal was to make the playoffs and that was it. I hate to make it sound like he didn't want to win a SuperBowl but his last comment during the press conference about how happy he was to have next week off really pissed me off.

Whatever. It's a long time til late next year, but the regular season next year, playoffs... the goal has to be a superbowl. We need to stop having such low standards of our team!!!

The stupid Eagles get outspent every year by the Redskins & Cowboys yet Andy Reid is threaten with his job. Any took it seriously, benched Donovan, and Donovan became a better QB and the Eagles are a better team because of it. I don't agree with cutting everybody every year when you don't win like a madman... not having consistency doesn't help BUT you also can't be a place where expectations are so low year after year after year.

We have a great team... 5 interceptions? I mean, seriously... how does somebody not get fired? I mean, the Colts couldn't get over the hump for years, so they got Adam and finally won a SuperBowl. We have to recognize that this team is close. Maybe replace Jake? Maybe challenge Jake? Maybe... a better secondary, but you can't just sit here and pretend everything is perfect.

The Eagles recognized Donovan was struggling, so they sat him... The Panthers need to start sitting people who aren't performing and we should have done that to Lucas and most of the secondary.

Couldn't agree more. I like Fox as a coach, I just never could get my mind around why he can't be a little less loyal to his player's or assistants. I wish he was my boss, so I could constantly screw up and know I still have a job!

5 interceptions? um Gamble and Beason each had 3, Lucas had 2, Godfrey, Diggs, Marshall, and Harris each had one. so its not like we had the worst defense in the league. The first half of the season we were a top 10 D, then just didnt produce the rest of the way...A +6 turnover ratio says something about a defense.

I think he was talking about Jake on Saturday. The sad thing is that a person could easily get confused about whether he was talking about our D all year or Jake in the one playoff game. :(
