Fox to Cleveland?

I don't know about it coming from the higher ups.

I do know without a doubt, that this was Jake Delhomme's team. The locker room supported him, regardless how us fans felt about it.

When you bench a QB that the team supports as much as the team supported Jake, you instantly create a rift. Whether or not the team could have over come that rift, is another debate.

Jake got hurt, and Moore started. He got the offense playing well. Had a couple of 300 yard games against some good defenses. He is a winner. He earned his shot to start, even though the team did stick by Jake for as long as they did.

I can't fault the team for sticking with Jake as long as they did. Do I wish they would have gone to Moore earlier last season? Hell yes I do....but I understand why they didn't. Do I agree with it. Nope, but I understand why they did it.

Do I hate Fox and company for doing it? Nope, they had to do what they had to do to keep the locker room together, cause a split locker room can tear a team apart.

Green Bay seems to be doing ok after canning a QB the team, City and State was behind a lot long than Delhomme...just saying

This isn't horse shoes or hand grenades.

There is winning, and losing. Being close sucks a hind ***.

I did not say he was a bad coach now did I? I said he is a coach that has been unable to put together a winning effort consistently. That is a perfectly accurate statement. Is that good enough for some people here? Apparently. Is that good enough for everyone? Nope.

I for one would welcome the opportunity to find the next great head coach at the risk of continuing to be inconsistent or worse.

You're right, you didn't say he was bad. You characterized success solely on the final season record though.

I think Fox is gone, I think most people do. I'll miss him but look forward to the hope a new coach will bring, and seeing how the franchise changes. I doubt the next coach will be as consistent though, and that means we're as likely to have horrific seasons as we are highly successful ones. Honestly, in this league and in this division we're probably more likely to have really bad seasons than really good ones--if it was easy everyone would be doing ot.

Fox is and has been good enough to always keep us in the hunt. After the misery of the late 90s and the Seiffert era, that's a big deal. And the increased expectations around here and among all Panther fans have been created because of Fox's success.

He may be on the way out, but he should get plenty of credit for being a great coach. He won't be unemployed any longer than he wants to be.

The increased expectation are due to the incredible talent we see on the field every single game that Fox doesn't utilize properly, or game plan for properly, or make adjustments at half time to compensate for properly or etc etc...bring on a real coach, someone that knows how to develope some offensive talent so we can actually SCORE SOME POINTS with more than variations of two plays in our playbook (which Jarrett can't seem to learn)

As it should be.
I think some people feel that there's a real distinction between 7-9 bad and 1-15 bad. I'm sure you can understand and appreciate that, even if you don't agree with it.

Where was this talent when Fox wasn't here? Who got it, developed it, and put it together into units that guys like you know how to manage better? Do you think Coaching begins and ends on the field during game day or something?

Yes, I also understand why 20% of people think the earth revolves around the sun in 1 month. But appreciate it, not so much.

I want a team that we can count on to win in most seasons. Has Fox provided that? No.

I am ready to move on at this point as I think most folks are. The lure of what might happen good outweighs the concerns about going backwards. sometimes you don't know what you have til it is gone. Other times you don't know how good things can be until you make a change.

After 9 years and no superbowl it is time to give someone else a shot.

And they did it the same way the panthers did with jake. They got rid of the vet qb in off season so there wouldn't be a division in the locker room.

Cyberjag obviously has a different and very strange definition of the word consistent. As long as that coach doesnt do worse than 7-9 then he is a damn good and very consistent coach! Winning seasons dont mean poo its all about how many double digit loss seasons you had. Coughlin has won a SB and has had 10 winning playoff sesons but because he had 3 double digit loss seasons Fox is much more consistent. WOW! LOL!
