Fox to Cleveland?

Allow me to enlighten you:

Ken Whisenhunt - Coaches in the God Awful NFC East. A high school team can win that division.

Jeff Fisher- teams are always competetive, but nothing more.

Shanahan - Good Coach. No arguements here.

John Harbagh inherited a 5-11 team with a terrible offense and went to an AFC title game with a rookie QB in his first season and made another deep run last year.

McCarthy - went through some lean years. Finally has an elite QB and is now well positioned.

Sparano - over rated. Only reason they won that year was Brady went down.

Coughlin - teams have been very up and down for the past few years. Not much diff than Fox.

Rex Ryan: Fat Slob. Backed into the playoffs as the beneficiary of his last two opponents taking the game off. Has proven NOTHING as a Head Coach.

Mike Tomlin: Inheritied a SB winning team. Shut up...not even related to teh arguement.

Singletary: 49ers are still a bad team.

Norv Turner: Joke of a coach

Childress: Best DLine in football and Peterson. However, it took a HOF QB to get him a playoff run. Chilly is not a good coach.

Lewis: The Benglas has been a mess his entire tenure...try again.

If you insist:

Ken whisenhunt: Really? I could have sworn he coached in the NFC west. You're off to a good start arent you cool guy? :D. Lets not forget he also won 4 playoff games in the last two years and nearly won the super bowl. Thats almost as many playoff wins as Fox in 8 years.

Jeff Fisher: Considering he's in a division with the Colts Id say they've been more than competitive

McCarthy: Made a bold move pushing a HOF QB out of the way to give a young unproven guy a chance. A genius!!

Sparono: Even if the pats swept the dolphins in 08 they still finish 10-6. Pretty damn good for a team that was 1-15 the year before.

Coughlin: Not really. He's had only 1 losing season in the last 6 years and 4 times they've been to the playoffs. Fox would kill for that kind of resume.

Rex Ryan: Went to an AFC title game with a rookie QB. Dont talk about God that way. Its disrpespectful!

Mike Tomlin: Actually he inherited and 8-8 team and has had as many winning seasons in 3 years as Fox in 8. He's a damn good HC. How would he not be related to the argument?

Singletary: No they really arent. Will probably win the NFC west this year. He made them respectable again in a very short time period.

Turner: Joke of a coach in Washington, great HC in SD.

Childress: Fox has Dwill and Jstew, a good solid defense and needed Matt Moore to bail him out last year.

Lewis: 2 division titles. Not bad for the worst team in football the previous 10 years.

I donno about these...

Wisenhunt - Doomed now that he has no QB... Warner made that team, and with out him they look like they are in shambles. In the next few weeks I'm sensing a "pleaeseeee come back Warner".

Jeff Fischer - Plays in one of the most competitive divisions in football..

McCarthy - Won like what? 1 play off game in his tenure... and had 1 HOF Qb and now a second elite QB.

Sparano - Is it him or Parcells?

Coughlin - He's in the hot seat what.. ever year?

Rex Ryan - What? Was blessed by two teams that quit last year...

Tomlin - No arguement, but teams is a mess right now.

Singleterry - Has done nothing yet..

Turner - How many playoff games has he won again? Oh 0? Oh and he has philip Rivers, bummer..

Lewis -- Same as above.

Childres - A beggar.

I bet people would be pissed if Fox left and turned Cleveland into what the Panthers are now... And we'd be the next Cleveland.. lol

If Fox did go to Cleveland, then he would turn them into what we are now. You can't say what we'd turn into, since we don't know who would replace him. Given that JR has a similar philosophy to Fox, I'd guess we'd get someone just like him. Hopefully it would be someone who was like Fox, but knew how to run a screen play.

I hope the next guy is another DC on the rise like Capers and Fox. I would hate to see another Seiffert on the sidelines.

I agree, I'd like to see a Leslie Frasier... or Ron Rivera... although I wouldn't be opposed to an Offensive minded coach.

Your weak response tells me I did.

No, not really. You just can't. I honestly, and I mean truly honestly, think you're stupid. And I mean stupid as in not very intelligent, poor judgment, kind of dumb, willing to say anything to try and make a point no matter how misguided. I really believe that, and filter your posts through that viewpoint.

I'm sure you're a nice guy and all, but that's just how it is.

Do me a favor and re-read what you said about all the coaches I listed. None of it was even remotely true. You just threw a bunch of poo up on the wall hoping it would stick and I simply called you out on it. Now all you can do is call me stupid because you have no way to defend yourself. :biggrin5:

Fine. Several of the coaches don't have Fox's winning percentage, and some others are wildly erratic. It looks like you went out and picked half the current coaches in the league, including a ton of relative newcomers who haven't done anything yet, and claimed they were better. Fox has a body of work to lean on, in a league that chews up poor coaches with regularity. And the Panthers used to just plain suck. He changed that, and raised the expectations of fans everywhere, especially on boards like this. He changed it because he's good at what he does.

He makes mistakes, like everyone, and he hasn't caught all the breaks but has made do with what he's had and done well with it. His record speaks for itself. If you said five guys were better, you get no argument. Ten, and maybe you are pushing it but most would let it slide. But to say that the winningest coach in the South and in Panther history is barely in the top half of the league is absurd on it's face. It's dumb, and indefensible.

Your other posts are bereft of intellect, and you make a habit of blind criticism. It's not smart, it's just echoing the hater line and is intellectually lazy. Go do some real analysis and maybe you'll gain some respect.

So when Fox went to the SB in his second season you reserved calling him better than some of the coaches that had been around longer? I seriously doubt that. Fact is, what alot of these coaches have accomplished in their first 2-3 years is pure genius and they deserve to be recognized for it especially when you consider what the inherited. They have been far more consistent in a short period of time than Fox has been over an 8 year span. If they fizzle like Fox the way he did after his 2nd season then you can bump this thread later on. I call it like I see it and these coaches are simply better than Fox no ifs, no buts, no ands about it. You're obviously a guy who doesnt like change and are still clinging onto 2003. Time to let go son! Time to let go! You wont have a choice but to let go after this season once Fox is gone.

Those John Fox "Haters" that are wishing him gone, better be careful because you might get that wish granted and the end result may not turn out the way you are hoping.

Just saying........

Unless JR goes out and hires Eric Mangini (possibly the only coach that Fox is truely better than) then I dont think we have much to worry about.

We don't know what will happen if/when Fox leaves. What we do know is that the status quo isn't working. If he stays, all we can expect mediocrity with a 33% chance of making the playoffs. Time to move on, possibly take a little pain, and at least show an effort to get better.
