Growing Sense that we take Mykel/Shemar, No matter who's available

Best option at 8 would be a trade back still. It's obvious none of the teir 2 guys are worth a top 10 pick.

I would rather grab an OT vs S/WR/TE available at 8. A project in the top 10 is just dumb. We have a terrible track record with them. Slow WRs and TEs certainly are not worth the pick. I'd say CB but they kept Horn unfortunately. Same with a DT and free agency.

So much meh available.

These types of picks are pure front office ego.

They dream of being the coach to ‘develop’ a raw player into something.

They dream of being the GM who finds hidden gems everyone else overlooked.

Hopefully just a smokescreen

It's a near certainty at least one of Tet WR, Graham DT, Walker LB, Johnson CB will be available, just on pure numbers/picks.

Ward, Hunter, Carter, & OL1 are gone, that's 4.  Just 3 more teams and then us.  And hell, someone may pop for Jeanty and/or Shedeur/Dart.

There's not 1 pure edge talent worth reaching after Carter, especially when you get immense value add with these guys that can play immediately and opponents need to account for.

Mykel and Stewart are very risky and fit the bust mold more than anyone else in this draft.  The Bucs OL won't give 2 flying fs about Mykel or Shemar on passing downs.  Heck, we'd probably be playing Wonnum and Clowney over both on passing downs anyways.

That would be a classic Panthers move, waste a top 10 pick on a DE who can't get to the QB. They would've been better off keeping Burns.

This draft has like 13 guys with first round talent, of those… maybe 9 would have a true first round grade by the majority of teams.

The reason Mykel or Shemar will be the pick is because both of them have the ability to play a 3/4 edge or a 4-3 DE. We are planning for a future where Evero isn't here either by choice or he takes a job elsewhere when his contract expires at the end of the season. We needed a young edge and while I like Jalon Walker's athleticism as a 3-4 edge the value isn't there as top 10 pick if he's forced to be an inside LB in a 4-3 with a new DC.

I'd love the Mykel pick at 8 as I feel the ankle injury played a big role in his lack of production this year. As for Shemar he's just way too much of a project to take at 8 and he could be had at a trade down spot. His sack numbers are concerning but his overall pressure numbers are good but after watching Burns miss and whiff on so many sacks for 5 years I can't take another player who's gonna have high pressure numbers but can't convert them to sacks.

[Brugler][Breer] more accurate 40 time reporting from Tet’s pro day

Just a reminder to be skeptical of 40 times when they posted initially from pro days. Agents want to control that narrative the best they can to help their clients out. That being said, 4.55 for Tet is great!

McMillan chose to run at his Pro Day held in Tucson Monday. The towering 6-foot-4, 219-pound wideout ran the following times per NFL insider Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated: 4.54, 4.55 then 4.57 — all through stopwatches.
