Patriots sign Stephen Gostkowski to a 4 year $14 million extension

Gostkowski has received a four-year contract extension, I’m told, keeping him in New England through 2014. It all begins after his RFA tender expires.

I’ve learned that Gostkowski’s contract has a total value of almost $14 million or an average of nearly $3.5 million per year. There is $5 million in guaranteed money.

He will earn a salary of $1.759 million on a one-year deal in 2010, a bargain for a Pro Bowler.

Gostkowski has hit 103 of 121 career field goals in his career. He has made 85.1 percent of his kicks, the best in franchise history.
