I still say we should bring in Kevin Curtis.

This will most likely never happen, but Curtis has had a few amazing games a few years ago where he looked great. I'd take one of him over a Jarrett and Moore --- EXCEPT the fact that Jarrett can block, and Curtis can't.

In fact, I don't think we could ever put Curtis in (if he was on our roster) during a running play, unless that run is a draw.

Edwards should be demoted to the practice squad immediately. While an incredible athlete, he looks like a deer caught in headlights. If he cannot return punts, then he will be of no use. Keep him in the weight room and "develop" his wide receiver and punt return talents. It is very unfair to him to throw him into a starting role in the NFL in a position he probably has not played since before high school.

The Panthers are planning for a lock-out next year. Plenty of wide receiver talent was available in the off-season and it just did not appear that the Panthers were interested. I think they will just make do with what they have. The game plan under Fox is run to set up the pass. Smith and company should be adequate for this approach.

I am curious to see how things change once Smith comes into the mix as the #1 receiver. Smith will likely garner double coverage and safeties cheating towards him. This could open things up for the other receivers and especially our tight ends. What really frustrates me is the lack of focus given to our TEs. I think we have a pretty decent 3 guys, King, Rosario and Barnidge. I really like Barnidge.

I think if he could get on the squad, he would .. but simply put someone else would pick him up, and we lose everything (I know you and everyone else already knows that).

God forbid Smith ever retires or otherwise leaves. If you think the passing game is bad now...

They will just start leaving all the other Panther receivers open and let them run all the way down the field. They won't be able to catch anything the QB throws to them anyway.
