Wright may be the only WR-not-named-Smitty with any kind of attitude. As a former Jet himself, you shoulda' seen him trash talking whenever he had a chance with the Jets sideline. Good to see. His other upside is ST play experience.

IF we keep a 3rd QB, a 5th RB, an extra K, and someone like Hilee Taylor, Eric Moore, it will probably be impossible to carry 6 WR...

However, I have been saying we would carry 6, and I stand by that... We should, because we have a dilemma in the whole situation...

Smitty: DUH

Jarrett: Clear cut #2, physical WR that can make catches in traffic and has the 2nd most reliable hands on the team

Moore: Good in the slot, capable of kick/punt return work

LaFell: 3rd round draft pick, needs time to develop

Wright: Gunner, probably special teams captain actually, and capable of receiving in emergency situations

Edwards: 2nd round draft pick (technically) and super athlete (supposedly), high hopes that he will develop into something

They all have some sort of value that is higher than Cantwell or Pike, Josh Vaughan, Todd Carter, or a 5th or 6th DE at the moment... By having some sort of cushion at one of those positions, the Panthers would be setting themselves up for a dire situation should something happen to Smitty...

Sure, it could workout that Moore is the odd man out, but I still believe it would be in our best interests to carry 6... Believe me, this is one situation that I don't want to say "I told you so" on...

You never know, someone might hit the waiver wire that we would cut Moore and Jarrett for, but I doubt it... DJ and KM are cheap and able to help us stay average or slightly above at the position... We bank a lot of our passing game hopes on Smitty, and we have done so for years...

We may try to stash Gettis on the practice squad, but someone will nab him.

I find it hard to call our group of WRs a WR corp according to Gnat-- Smitty obviously, but the Panthers also have two rookies and we know rookie WRs don't produce in the NFL, a 4th year underwhelming receiver, and Karl Hankton part two.

If we keep 5,I see us keeping-Steve Smith-Dwayne Jarett-Brandon Lafell-Armanti Edwards-Wallace Wright.

If we keep six my choice would be Kenny Moore.

The WR leftovers by choice,would be in this order- David Gettis,Charly Martin,Dexter Jackson,Trent Guy.
