Touchdown or bust

I think everyone on here is eluding to the fact that Steve Smith and Jonathan Stewart are our offense... well, and DW, but he's already playing. Otah would obviously add to the depth of our offensive line. OK...

But what some of you people who aren't freaking out have failed to realize is that we were minus DW, and Otah at the end of last season... then Smith didn't play in the Saints game. We managed to win 3 of those 4 W's without DW and Otah, and also managed to get down the field and score against the Saints without Steve Smith. And even those were the Saints backups... the Jets also played their backups against our starters this past Saturday and we were unable to move the ball down field.

This in itself screams for a cry of help IMHO. They better score on the Titans in the first half, or I'll be joining the "freaking-out" group. Right now, I stand firmly in the middle of those that are and those that aren't.

Yea but we still have allowed 11 sacks on the QB. There is no spark on our offense what so ever and if we cant keep Moore upright then there never will be. If Moore is as good as we all think it want matter what kind of WRs we have he will make them better. Right now thats not the case.

We've played our O against two of the better D's in the league. After this weekend, IMHO, we'll have played against three of the better D's in the league. (I think the Titans are very under-rated, and are a contender in the AFC playoff race this year).

The O leaves a lot to be desired, and simply scoring a touchdown in a pre-season game doesn't really sway me one way or another. This team will live and die by the run, so I want to see us successfully run the ball. If the drive is killed by penalties, or mistakes, but we ran the ball well, that's ok, because it's pre-season. The resulting TD/FG/points are not the important thing at this step. The pre-season is more about winning the "play" vs "play" than the "score" vs. "score".

*I always think of pre-season scores as follows: a play for >4 yds. = 1 point for Offense, a play for <4 yds. = 1 point for Defense. I watch the O/D lines, see who pushes who around, and try to tell if we are going in the right direction. The rest is meaningless, to a point, because the coaches are trying to evaluate the players more than win the game. Hence, the score is almost trivial.
