The firing of the writers was just a rumor the show's producer came out and said no writers were fired.

In an interview with EW, The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd (The Terminator, Aliens) denies reports that director Frank Darabont fired the hit AMC show’s writing staff. She also confirmed that all of the principal cast — or, presumably, the actors whose characters are still alive at the end of this Sunday’s season finale — are signed up for multiple seasons of the zombie show.

She talks a little more in the full article but not much of interest.

Yeah. Something about him needing "fresh samples" bothers me. How would anyone know if he was really testing them?

Thing is does he mean "Fresh changed" or "fresh from outside"

One is easy to get, one someone has to die to get.

Okay, did it bother the piss out of anyone else that they left all those m16s lying around? I mean there were hundreds, plus ammo! The one guy is still using a bolt action hunting rifle! I mean didn't they risk life and limb for a bundle of shotguns? If they spent one minute running checking the dead soldiers they could have built up an arsenal big enough to give CatOfWar a permanent erection.

For peak sake!
