fish cooking smell...interesting. Didn't think about that. I certainly didn't see that zombie zerg coming. No one is asking how 4 dudes on foot would make it back before a one-handed Merle driving a box truck?

Yes...someone should put a bullet in the sis's head now.

Wow, so i was channel surfing and caught this series.

FUGING Awesome. I know nothing of the comic books but I love me some zombie killing.

Why didn't anybody start a thread about this show when it first came out? :D

Looks like I have some catching up to do...

If you have TW all the episodes are on demand. That's how I caught up. I've never seen the comics either and it probably makes the show that much better.

Who said Merle was headin back to camp? The guy is obviously not all there at the moment...hand vs chain.

They caught one near camp the other day. I figured that one was just wondering around.

Also These zomb's move a lot quicker than I'd be comfortable with.

The Campers got way too comfortable. What a sorry ass perimeter defense/warning system they had.

When you're traveling through wooded areas, zombies are still around you, but you don't see them or hear them. You might pass only 1 every thousand feet, but over large distances that can add up. And large groups of zombies attract other zombies, so this is potentially just the first wave to hit the camp. That's the problem with remaining stationary in a zombie apocalypse, they're just going to keep coming. If you have walls keeping them out, you have to keep cleaning out the zombies constantly, or they pile up against the wall and eventually tear it down. You can't even leave dead zombies laying around outside the walls, because then it eventually becomes a little hill of dead zombies up and over your walls/fence.

Anyway. They follow by smell, and once they're going in a direction they keep going in a direction until something else gets their attention. The trail of blood from the deer killed last episode probably allowed them to zero in on the camp, when originally they may have been following the car alarm, or Glenn from his frequent trips in and out of the city for supplies.

The smell of cooking was probably the final clue to pull them all together in the area and draw them in. They move slowly until they find a target. In the comics they're true shamblers, but they seem to have souped them up a little for television. My guess would be short bursts of speed before they lose interest, but keep traveling in the direction they were headed.

Yep they got too complacent and paid the price for it.. one thing I wondered was what about that black guy and his kid was supposed to meet rick in atlanta.. they didn't show anything about that.

I'm sure he will come back into play. Probably when Rick gets in a jam or something he will show up and help him.

So what you are saying is, this is just another reason to leave Atlanta.
