So I just finished all the comics, issues 1-78. I couldn't stop reading them. Amazing. I'm pretty happy it's still a on-going comic, I thought it wasn't. It's going to suck waiting to find a scan every month though. Yeah, I'm cheap, I downloaded them.

I think the TV show will be quite different, but will probably use some of the story lines. I'd say you should read the comics, I'm not even a big comic reader, but this was intense and addicting. Rick's character has real depth, a ton, and I hope they explore it in the show, I'm just not sure the actor can pull it off. There's also no way a lot of this stuff hits TV, even AMC. I'm starting to think this show should have been on HBO/Showtime, etc. cause it won't hit you as hard as the comics do.

It's not a zombie story, it's a human survival/journey/adventure story that just happens to have zombies.

I'm probably going to buy the volumes though. You can buy a book with issues 1-48 for like $37 on amazon, and it's worth it.

I dunno, Breaking Bad doesn't seem to pull any punches, so lets hope AMC lets this run wild too.

I'll definitely be buying the issues from here on out. Be the first comic book series I've bought since Marvel fuged their poo up after the Infinity Gauntlet. Ugh.

I tried to get a subscription, but Image doesn't offer them, and everyone else wants to charge the price of the comic for shipping. :|

Image is releasing reprints of issues 1-78 weekly due to the popularity of the television series, so you could just order them and have them delivered from a 3rd party.

Or buy the trade paperbacks which come with multiple issues in each volume.

I think there's a big book for like 40 on amazon that has issues 1-48 in it and I think the 2nd book is out soon that has the rest, so far.

Loved it. Complicated, layered, intense, this is the way TV ought to be.

Plus it was a pleasant diversion from the Panthers game today. Far less violent and disturbing.
