What Happened To Jarrett?

I was wondering when you would show up to defend your butt buddy.

Sorry but to play receiver in this league you have to be able to consistently catch the ball, something Kenneth Moore, Brandon LaFell and Armanti Edwards have not shown thus far....

You also have to get open, something Jarrett has failed to do much in three years.

They are all in a group right now, and its not a good group. Jarrett has had the most time to prove himself, but hasn't shown much at all. Sure he has good hands and can catch the short ones, but so can Jeff King. So far, none of them have shown much, but at least the new guys are new, and have some potential.

I guess people can offically quit using the Jake Delhomme excuse for why Jarrett sucks.

preseasons games 1 and 2 really don't mean that much.

Not gameplanning makes a huge difference. So does not having Smith on the field. So does Fox not really running/playcalling like he would in a game.

I think people should hold off on the player x sucks or is great. I wouldn't be shocked if the offense takes a pretty big step forward against Tenn and the defense took one backwards. D ain't is good as it appears nor is the offense as bad most likely.

I have seen plenty of catches where a receiver wasn't "open", big receivers use their body to shield the defender and make a catch all the time. I've yet to see a catch where the receiver couldn't catch the ball....

I never said D.J. was a pro bowler or should even be the number 2 receiver on any team. All I said was IMO, with the options we have he is the best possible solution. Do I wish a Vincent Jackson or Anquan Boldin was here, of course, but it's not happening so we work with what we got....

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. To your defense all the recievers have sucked so far, not just Jarrett.

Yes we will, I also think that having double coverage on mediocre receivers isn't helping their cases. Once Smitty gets back I think one of the two (Jarrett or Moore) will have a lot more room to work and make plays....

Next Saturdays game against the Titans will be a better game to evaluate and measure what the Panthers will probably be capable of than the two previous preseason games.

I would really like to see Steve Smith, since he had a full practice today and Jonathan Stewart both get some playing time

In my opinion, the Panthers need a win to restore confidence in a young and developing team.

I honestly think teams could care less about W's or L's. The guys who often decide that outcome aren't going to be playing in the NFL.

I do think if they are gonna play 3 quarters they need to have at least 2 TD drives imo to really fell confident on where they are. (preferably through the air and not long runs).
