Cried like a baby yesterday....

My father-in-law is the gruffest, toughest macho man you'll ever meet. The Dos Equis "most interesting man" takes notes on how to be more interesting from him. He'd be the Marlboro man, except he smokes Camels.

Crying? Are you kidding me? The only tears he would shed would be to put water in his truck's radiator had a leak and he was in the desert.

That being said... when they had to put their 15-year old mutt-dog down, he cracked. I actually saw the man cry.

So... Zod. It's cool man. The loss of pets, dogs in particular, are fine to cry over and still be a man.

P.S. Sorry bout your pup.

Took ole Daisy to have her put down.

She had gone downhill fast over the last couple months. Gotten to a point where she was uncomfortable all the time. Yesterday morning she needed my help to get up from laying down, so it was time.

Took her to the vet, who agreed it was the humane thing to do.

She laid there with her head in my lap looking up at me as I petted her and assured her what a good girl she had been. Wasn't 20 seconds until she was asleep.

I won't lie. I didn't cry. I sobbed. I had not sobbed like that for many years, probably since the passing of my paw paw. Losing a pet sucks. I can't even imagine what it must be like to lose a spouse or child. Must be one thousand times worse. Makes my heart really go out to those families that much more.

Anyways, I think this qualifies as one of those times men are allowed to cry in the man rule book. Someone please verify.

Absolutely, it's one of those times. Actually, it's expected. You're just not human if parting with your beloved pet doesn't affect you that way.

So sorry for your loss. My son had to put his lab down about six weeks ago. It's a very difficult, but humane, thing to do.

Well then you blew your shot with her.

No, definitely didn't blow the shot with her.

When we see guys cry (and we know you arent just a p*ssy that cries all the time), it really really really gets to us. We know that something has hit you that hard to affect you so much.

I bet if you went back she would definitely remember you and would not think of you in a bad light bc you cried.

So, I'm sorry you lost your puppy. I would have been bawling my eyes out. But its a good thing that she isnt in any more pain :)

Maybe you could get a new puppy? Or is it too soon?
