I caught over 100 punts in camp, that's not an excuse anymore

I have read so much on this in the past hour, and I tend to think it comes down to the person...Edwards was like Munnerlyn redux. You need a guy who is suicidal, loves the pain of smack and frankly has got one oar in the water!

I saw that one reception, I think another Panther was involved, and when he caught it, he bobbled it a bit....but what caught my ears was a defensive player screaming at the receiver and the consequent jittery moment. I would think that you need an earphones, and some Ludicris or Kap or fiddy cent pounding in yer ears...or a pair of Kasey sanctioned ear plugs! Are horse blinders permitted?

Just re-watched the first half. First turnover you cant really blame AE. Pugh touched the ball with his foot AE didnt have a good chance to field it. The second one was all AE. AE didnt field another punt the rest of the game.

What the hell are you talking about? All AE had to do was run up a few steps and catch the ball, and Pugh wouldn't have even had a chance to touch it. AE just stood there and let it drop. I'm no App State or AE hater, but that was putrid.

I could even let the other one go and write it off as just preseason, but you can't let a catchable punt drop in the middle of the field like that.

First one was totally his fault. If he isn't going to field it, he HAS to yell out "Clear!"

It's amazing that some of you thought he was going to be great overnight. He played quaterback in college and now is a wide reciever/ return man. This does not happen after two preseason games. Couple that with the pressure of them giving up a second round pick for him, and I could see why returning punts would be a little nerve racking. Give him time. Then you can label him whatever you want.

AE was 5 yards short to catch it. So instead of risking a bobbled catch he let it drop. Pugh got into blocking position and his heel touched the ball. He made the right decision as we would have had the ball on the 35 yardline if Pugh hadnt touched it.

He was 5yds short because he just stood there and watched it instead of running under it. He had all day to get under that ball.

He misjudged it but would you rather have him try and field it and turn it over or let it drop and be downed? He didnt clear the area out but dont crucify him for thinking.

Nah, I was at the game, he stopped short. The ball was catchable and if he would have fair called it they would have had it at awesome field position. I remember thinking WTF is Armanti doing and knew soon as he stopped running under it this was going to be bad. No one is calling Armanti a bust, but he really doesn't have to be all that great to catch a punt. Ball control is obviously an issue. We don't even know if he has a fumbling problem to address like Goodson because he never has the ball.

Just critiquing not dismissing, hopefully he pulls it together and can muster up all his talent to catch a punt.

Yeah, he definitely misjudged it. Which begs the question...how can you be a punt returner if you can't master the very basic skill of judge the ball in the air? Seriously, if he can't judge a pop up on a calm clear night, then how is he ever gonna field punts when it's cold, windy and rainy, and he has to catch a knuckle ball?
