Fox sharpest tool in the shed?

I'm gonna get flamed for this, and I know it, but.....

I get the feeling that Fox is not really the sharpest tool in the shed. As a HC, he's picked his assistants and it looks like they get free reign, for the most part.

Henning? Henning went with the same old, same old for so long it was ridiculous. Didn't look to me like he was put on the hot seat....It simply looked like when Fox HAD to do something to save himself, Henning was history.

It's like deja vu all over again with Turgo. Same with Delhomme. Delhomme threw a lot of hurtful INT's this year, put us in lots of bad spots, and Foxy says it's gonna be more of the same ole Delhomme next year. What? No hot seat? No repurcussions of ANY kind for Jake? Don't misunderstand, I'm not saying Jake needs to be sent packing or benched, I'm saying he needs to bge COACHED.

To me the number one task for a HC is "In game" decisionmaking. Fox fails miserably at this. If something isn't working does he adjust? Hell no. INT, INT, INT, lets chew our gum harder and clap some more. Fitz uncovered for the ENTIRE freaking game, (when it counted), lets give that gum more of a workout. And this isn't just one game, it's all the time. If an adjustment needs to be made, it never happens. Don't even get me started on clock management. He manages a clock like my "special" cousin would. (A FG runs 5 seconds off the clock, so lets call the timeout with 6 seconds remaining, wtf?)

He's a good coach when his assistants made the right call and things are going well. The sign of a Playoff Winning HC is not how he reacts when things are going well, it's how he handles himself under duress. Our record would have been far different this year if not for a HANDFUL of plays. Plays where Jake made ill advised throws into double coverage and Smith bailed our asses out. Nevermind we wouldn't have been in those game ending situations if our HC had done his job DURING the meat of the game. "We're ahead by 3? It feels like we're ahead by 40, lets coast."

I have seen every minute of every Panthers game for years. I watch post and pregame interviews with coaches for lots of teams. I have to honestly say something. I have NEVER heard a comment out of Fox's mouth that has added to my knowledge of the game. I have never heard him say anything that has given me any kind of strategic insight that I didn't have before. I've listened to Parcells, Turner, Reid, Gruden, everybody, hell, even Silent-Bellichick and learned something about the game, or strategy, or position-playing, or just SOMETHING.

In my humble opinion with this HC we will have good seasons. We will have winning seasons. We will NEVER be looked at as a Playoff Threat under this "Game manager". We need a Head Coach.

Im with you, I've heard "We'll be great next year!" or "It was only one bad game!" for the past couple years. Im tired of it... we have a great team with horrible coaching... Im tired of watching this team underachieve each and every year.

you do realize that that game manager has one of the better playoff records around right.

Why the hell didn't you tell this to Arizona. If they'd only known......

    • The SEC were not having GT upset Georgia at home. Horrendously corrupt officiating in this game - the non-PI on 4th down and the non-targeting call on the King fumble. Good lord.
    • I like how they were about to punt the ball right before the two minute warning before being like... oh fug, this'll be too obvious we gotta try a FG then ole boy skulls one that never got more than about 12 feet off the ground. LOL!
