MM deep throws

Timing is everything folks, and what some can forget is that Moose had it down to a science, as Smith does. However there exists the immeasurable issue of desire and disciplined determination. Smith uses that factor to out jump many a foot taller than he.

If you are thinking that the QB is gonna put it in your hands you need not play for us. Mr. Delhomme was granted pardon on many passing infractions because he had a coupel of masters of the grab n' catch! A floater must be in the hands of the receiver vs. the secondary hawk.

I had no problem with the throw.....that is the perfecttype ball for Steve Smith. Maybe Moore didn't see the S help coming but regardless I would think the WR would have finished that better......

We're all so conditioned to Smitty. Not a bad thing.

Through all of training camp most people were saying Clausen looked the slowest of the quarterbacks and had the slowest footwork. Moore does not have better arm strength as evidence of his hail mary that landed 10 yards shy of the end zone. Even a miracle catch would have been pointless.

One thing from last night I liked from Clausen was that after bad throws he was smacking his hands together. After drops he had no reaction. Moore on the other hand after the Rosario drop just looked frustrated and started shaking his head slowly while the camera was on him. Clausen seemed more calm and collected.

in all fairness I dont' think the hail mary is evidence that Moore hase a weaker arm. Moore could have thrown that ball out of the endzone if he wanted to....IMO just wasn't executed perfectly as he put a little too much loft on that one.

It wasn't just one play, it was two plays and they are comparative to all his deep passes. I am of the opinion the ball was just slightly off target but we are talking about a 40+ yard throw and he landed it almost perfectly where it needed to be (half a yard too far and half a yard too far inbounds). My issue with the pass is that he gave the ball way too much air time allowing the safety to come across and intercept it... or he waited too long to throw it.

Similar situation with the hail mary. Why even bother with a "miracle catch" when you can throw almost the same distance to someone who can catch it in stride rather than sit there and pretend you are a punt returner. Like someone else said, he was throwing punts out there instead of darts.

I must say that Moore's hail marry looked very "Delhommeesque". He had to rainbow it real high to get the ball as far as it went, and even then it was 5 yards or so short of the end zone. I don't see it as a big deal really as accuracy is more important than being able to throw the ball 60+ yards, but this topic had its own thread so I thought I would add my .02.
