Do we try to sign a new returner?

I forgot we also have Jackson. We have McClain, Jackson, and Witherspoon but yet Fox still uses the same incompetant players.

I've pretty much come to the conclusion Edwards should develop a phantom injury and go on IR this year. I really would like to see Witherspoon or even Jackson get a shot at the return job....

Just what are you looking for? Someone to take it back for a TD every return? As long as they catch the ball and get a few yards they will be more than fine. As they say, it is a game of field position. I'd rather have a consistent returner who gets x number of yards instead of one who gets little-to-none but breaks a big one every now and then.

Honestly, I want a guy that has the ability to take it to the house. He doesn't have to, but is a threat. To me, what Sutton have over the other guys right now is he won't fumble. Just wanna see some new options.

That might be hard to find, at least right now (with the guys on the roster and FA).

I'd prefer to have consistency and no turnovers at this point.

I would be fine with our ST returner just fair catching it every time but I fear that even this task cannot be accomplished without a botch job, my recommendations is to go for a block punt on every situation and leave nobody back there to field the punt. This way it can't be muffed or the return team touch the ball and cough it up.

I think it would work nicely (PR block each time).

The flaw in that is the possibility of a fake punt screen pass, then we would have no one to even attempt a tackle deep. But the idea is better than everyone holding their breath everytime the ball is kicked.

i would take consistency....as long as that meant consistently catching the ball, holding on to it, and getting better than 23 yards per kick return and 10 per punt return. that would put us a little better than average in both areas.

last year we averaged 19.9 on kick returns (31st) and 8.6 on punt returns (16th). right now i can pretty confidently say that we don't have anyone on this team capable of doing any of that consistently.
