I don't think there were enough down-field opportunities for Jarrett during the game, or else he would've caught those too (not saying he would've got some crazy separation or anything).

This is what people don't get Jarrett never really got crazy separation at USC (outside of a catch here and there), he used his body to shield the defender and made the tough catch. That's who Jarrett is. Jarrett strengths at USC were he route running, his size and his hands. We've seen the last two in limited action for the Panthers, he seems to finally be showing the route running. It's all about the QB, if Matt Moore can get the ball near Jarrett, Jarrett will make the catch. Whether its for 5 yards and a first down or 20 yards and a first down I couldn't care less....

Wrong. Jarretts strength at USC was his hieght and crappy DB play.

I like Jarrett for his hands and wish that he could be better but he just has no ability to seperate. It has nothing to do with his speed its his agility and route running. There are guys that are slower than DJ that can get better seperation simply by running great routes.

Jarrett is not going to be #2. His best play last night came because he was so slow the DB couldn't help but run all over his ass resulting in a PI.

Is it Matt Moore not only a good enough QB to get the ball near him but does he also have the balls to do it? As slow as Jarrett was, I was convinced that JR had put on mask and was running routes out there with his cane. I think the guy servin beer in section 115 outran him with a full fuggin cart!

You don't need to outrun people when you're 6'5 and have hands of glue....

Idk man, hit me with some examples of those said slow receivers that get separation and I'll show you a receiver that has at least a good burst or is extremely clever in his game. DJ doesnt strike me as the clever type either btw.

colston, and that is what I am saying, if DJ is going to be slow then he has to run great routes and find other ways to get seperation.

Also: DAM IT FOXY! I don't CARE if it's Pre-Season. 40 seconds left in the game, a chance to win the game if you can just drive down the field. At that point, fug EVALUATION. Win the damn game! It's good for morale, which helps more than you think. Momentum going into the season always helps.

I noticed the Center play last night. i was trying to see who was playing front line in the 2nd half when Clausen couldn't get a clean snap.

It looked like Mackenzy Bernadeau was snapping #73 but he usually plays G right? i wonder if they were just trying him out at C. Does anyone know if he lines up at C usually?

What are you talking about? They went all 4 downs, no punting. Almost cost him too cause Clausen got clocked on that last play.
